The only explanation is money. Save on Doyle and Vaughan. Get Stuart in to boost season ticket sales. Give up on this season and hope for the best next year.

Ah I see it now. Sorry for being dense. It was the word ‘avatar’ that threw me. You see this is where I’m going wrong: not only do I not have an avatar but I didn’t know what it was. When my son comes home I will insist he puts me one on. In about an hour’s time I’ll be off down to the pub for my dinner and will casually throw in the word and hope to impress the barmaid who serves me.

The other explanation is rank incompetence.

What's wrong with saving on money? Two players not wanting to be here/disruptive? Why keep paying them to underperform? A move that is pretty much the definition of good management IMO. No club statement needed.

‘...read the forums of relevance...’ Do you actually read this forum? It is 99% garbage. And I include myself in that,

Why would the club pay any attention to what is said in here?

    Really were you being serious?

Incorrect. I'll take Connor Wood's interview as evidence who played with them on a daily basis and not a total guess. Good management letting 35 league goals leave the club on the basis that the previous manager couldn't get a tune out of them. Then sack him after the window so McCall has no say in the squad for the rest of the season? It reeks of incompetence, not good management to me.

Yep. It is a representative sample of what supporters are saying and thinking. I hear similar stuff in the pub and at the ground. Lots of people with different backgrounds and ages all with one thing in common: a sincere love of the club, shouldn’t be ignored.

Agree, I think most get it that as a paid employee Julian's role is to keep a lid on expenditure so if sending Doyle & Vaughan out on loan initially is saving the club money so it can be used else where has to make sense.
Ths test of Rupp's commitment will come next season, depending on what league we're in will dictate how many season tickets we move on even at next seasons great price.
Vaughan is a strange one he has signed for 8 clubs and been loaned out 5 times whilst at his parent club, you have to ask about the player and his attitude.

I think what is said on here is a broad representation of the fan base. Maybe, fans on here become a little intense on their own views, but by enlarge the majority of fans are just airing their views. Of course the board can just ignore it, that is fair enough. However, I would wonder why they would want to ignore any fan base feedback; I know we don’t know all the facts and that provides much speculation, and that in itself provides much debate, as to why fans are not kept uptodate with plans and intentions of the club. You can hardly criticise fans for airing their views without all the facts, my answer to that is provide them with facts so they can air their views in full knowledge.

And why didn't they want to be here? Most footballers in L2 would prefer to play in a stadium like ours in front of bigger crowds than some Championship clubs.
The reason that neither of them wanted to be here was because they were being hung out to dry - forced to play back to goal, drop deep and deal with aerial missiles from the back four. Both are goalscorers who play facing goal and do their work in the opposition penalty box. Expecting them to play as target men is like playing Ismael as a centre back, with similarly poor results. No self-respecting goalscorer would be happy with Bowyer's ultra defensive tactics - putting nine men behind the ball, creating next to no chances and then publicly moaning at the isolated forwards for not clinically finishing every occasional half chance that randomly fell their way.
I'm convinced that McCall, or most other managers, would have found a way to utilise Doyle and Vaughan's talents to far better effect. There are other ways to create and convert chances without a target man, but Bowyer's football vision was too limited to see them. But we'll never know now, because we were never given the chance to enjoy seeing them play their natural game and do what they are good at.

Fair enough but that still doesn't mean the financial argument isn't sound. Why pay a premium for strikers that are limited in the ways they are effective and with a manager that has no interest playing the way they want. Make sense all round. Especially to the the person paying the wages. The crazy bit was hanging them out to dry as you put it. Stopping that and saving money makes perfect sense.

When a football club thinks about business 1st rather than football 1st it ends up going backwards. Bradford City FC are a backwards club. Under Rhodes it will go nowhere!

As much as for whatever reason you look Rhodes it's now time for him to go!

Didn't he let Windass go? What happened then?

We let our leading scorer go because he didn't like Bowyer and he knew Bowyer was getting sacked. For me that's unforgivable and not at the best interest of the club.

No, the crazy bit was letting them go and then sacking Bowyer only a few days later.
It was obvious that Bowyer had lost the fans and was clueless about how to stop the slide. They must have been already contemplating the chop. To wait until he'd binned off our best goalscorers before acting was utter madness.

From Sparks' comment below, it wasn't a decision made by the club but the club allowed the manager to dictate it, not finances.

No two ways about it. No one could justify it and I’m surprised our newshound at the T&A isn’t demanding an interview to find out why. This kind of information is of more interest to me than the weekly diet of what music is being played over the tannoy pre-match.

I think some on here need a reality check

Try episode 1 of this as a starting point

    https://share.transistor.fm/s/cb5acec7

    The Price of Football.

we may not like it but this could be us if we follow the ‘Dont think about business’ model.

what we need is a Business and Football balanced model. Which is not an owner simply dipping his hand in his pocket.
