Next Manager

For L1 standards it was enjoyable to watch. Posession football, we didn't hoof it. Results were ok in that first season despite all the crap in the background.

Lazy, no. Safe, yes.

His record as manager is the highest win % in that last spell and he left under appalling circumstances.

If this was the summer, I'd be inclined to agree, we move on but for the here and now - to save our season he is exactly what we need. A feel good factor and somebody who knows and understands the club from the off...

McCall would be my choice although you cant argue regards Warnock even if it is only for a few months.

If its Drury it seem he has been nurtured for this role over the past years. It does not excite and if results dont improve its suicidal.

Every time we sack a manager or one leaves do we need a feel good factor like a fat kid needing sweets in a shop?

It's lazy! I love McCall like the next City supporter but for me I feel we needed something different considering he's been here about 10 times and never taken us up or anything.

we have tried all sorts. We have tried being different. We need stability.

 

And what if they sounded out Stuart to come in alongside him and he used his Rangers contacts to get Middleton! That one seemed to come out of nowhere!

It's like going back to an ex all the time because you're weak and she has you by the balls because you feel worthless and no doubt yourself in finding someone different that can make you happy or love you! Sad!

 

I hope not. Having been sensible enough to realise that Bowyer couldn’t stay, they couldn’t be daft enough to effectively carry on his “work” through Drury.

The short-term combo of Warnock / McCall is probably the best shot at play-offs and getting supporters back on side. Time’s ticking for Warnock as well - by the end of Feb, there won’t be enough games left for him to achieve his personal goal. He also needs to decide if he wants to manage anywhere, or somewhere that has its own goal i.e. promotion or avoid relegation. Personally, I’d rather go out on a high of winning promotion than avoiding relegation. Hope we see Warnock / McCall today and then take stock when the seasons finished. Plenty of time as L2 finishes early this season.

No ifs about it, it would be suicidal. The club have said the reason they've acted is to give us the best chance of still making the playoffs, if they think Drury is the man to do that they are more naive than I thought. Yesterday, they managed to instill some hope back into the fans, make the right appointment and that will likely lead to them selling more season tickets, which I'm sure is part of the aim. If after they allowed their communications guy to state that we have been inundated with applications, some high calibre, and we end up with Drury, they will deserve all the vitriol that is aimed at them.

 

VP Saturday will look like a tinpot trophy game if it's Drury till the end of season
