I might be in the minority here but I dont want Warnock. Sure, he's successful but it'd be another short term appointment of a man who just wants to reach a milestone.

We need a long term plan which includes the right manager being able to build something on the pitch for the future and Warnock isn't that man.

I'd go all out for Nathan Jones. He is absolutely what we need - style of play, vision, ability to build a squad for back to back promotions, recruitment, young player development.

He is the sort we need long term - agreed.

Whether he’d drop to League Two though, I’m not sure. He rates himself highly and its a big step down from Stoke.

Gonna be interesting as to how GB plays Donaldson, Vaughan, Doyle, Devitt, Cooke, Pritchard, Connolly, Mccartan in a Bowyer shaped team......

Nathan Jones would be very unlikely to get us promoted this season, IMO - but as a long term project, why not?

Bowyer's going to be interested to see how that works, too, because I bet hasn't the first idea what to do with that front three, let alone the rest.

    Probably not.

Problem is, if Jones walks into this squad, yes there are a few players that will work for him, but there will be others who don't. And when you start dropping results, every decision looks preposterous.

I remember Parky's first season - he made some weird and wonderful loan signings, and tried to cram them into the team. Some of those players were dog turd - one of the worst was Will Atkinson.

Yet Will Atkinson worked in a proper Parky side. Imagine Jones comes in and Doyle isn't his 'type of striker', or he packs the midfield with bottlers because they can pick a pass, and we begin losing due to not having a spine.

I think some fans like the idea of a long term plan and the hope of better football - but being patient while we get there probably isn't for them, either.

However, I'd much rather have a long term manager who I expect WILL bring good football than Bowyer - who we all know WILL NEVER provide entertaining football.

A collection of all the goals scored by Luton under Nathan Jones last time he managed in League Two. They came 2nd.

I'd agree with this. This club needs a long term sort out, not a quick fix looking for one last roll of the dice. I so desperately want out of this division but may have to concede that the problems at this club are so deep rooted it make take years to turn round. At the moment we have nothing, a clueless manager somewhat hamstrung by a squad of player massively over rated by a large section of its fan base, to a point where even the lowest teams in the division are starting to play us off the park.
Firstly the club needs to change at the top. Theres no hunger there to take the club forward. If Rupp stays he needs to ask questions of Rhodes in where the ambition and drive is. Ideally a new owner would take the reigns but we all know that ain't gonna happen. I'd then get rid of boring Bowyer and look for a manager with a vision and strategy of how he wants next season to shape up, give him the next six months to get accustomed to the club and let him identify targets he wants for position he feels are needing of strengthening, not just bring in any old Tom, Dick or Harpal like Bowyers has done.

I am NOT going, I just can’t watch that crap. I gave the club a full season in League 2, I am now waiting to see what ambition this club really has. No more bemoaning our lot due the disaster that was Rahic and co. It is now we have to invest and do whatever we can to realise promotion. First Bowyer and Drury goes, deep pickets Mr Rupp or otherwise you may lose the lot, a good business man knows when he needs to invest. Then we need a manager who knows how to get the best out of these players. No more negativity, we all know we didn’t want to be here, but safety first hasn’t worked. No point in moaning time to grasp the nettle.

I agree about Warnock, but it might work in the short term. I said somewhere on here we need both short and long term strategy running both at the same time. We could use the rest of the season to develop a long term strategy manager and coaching staff to be the priority. I am fed up of the constant bemoaning our short term past, we can’t keep looking back and blaming that. Time for action and investment.

You might be right. I wonder if Rhodes' will be reluctant to pull the trigger after what happened when he gave Todd the boot? On the flipside, a poor end to this season and a continuation of this dire style of football may significantly hinder ST sales and next season's budget.

Warnock as a long term solution is a non starter I agree
But get him in between now and the end of the season with his successor at his side
This club needs a shake up from top to bottom JR MAY know a thing about the financial side of things but no idea on the playing/ management side we haven't had a football man to influence things for a long time now
Everyone currently at VP would learn from Warnock and hopefully carry some of his ethics through to next season
We have been a "nice" club for too long this is the second season running things have turned toxic fans won't stand a third
Let Warnock kick arse from top to bottom and hopefully Dreareys out the door I dont know of a better man to get this club back on track

    Sorry mate missed it.

That makes no sense to me though.

So if we are midtable about 10 points off the play off then sack him! I said the club is weak and that would prove it.

We've the squad to go up but not the manager.

Seriously, if we sacked Bowyer and got no players in I would be happy with that.

We need to go up this season and that's not happening under Bowyer even if we finish in the play offs.

I doubt Rhodes will leave it mate, low season ticket sales, toxic atmosphere, fans following out with each other- that would be neglecting your duties and if anyone tell me he cares about the club I won't believe them. Why would you leave it when its so bad?
