According to the inter web he’s got a net worth of about 50 million quid. I’d certainly like him on BOARD!

Seems like another manager that can get a tune out of our strikers.

Can't expect an ex full back to know how to
Get the best out of strikers,he can't even get
the best out of our defenders !

Does he ever think football is an entertainment
business ? He should ask the "Gladiator" question,
"Were you not entertained"? a resounding Nooooooo!!!
    would be the deafening reply!

Enough to finance a decent league two midfielder I’m sure :)

Salford now in for Will Grigg. Really strong squad for a play off push.
Anyone else gonna come In for us or have we still got to get one out before one comes in?

I posted earlier in the thread about the T&A report quoting GB as saying recruitment would be 'reactive' - so I assume 'departures', before any are incoming. Although a contrasting report states Rupp declares 'funds are available'.
IF the likes of Salford can do business, and we can't ....... With our current performances, we will be left behind, very soon.

Is this Jack Payne January MK2. One player in (Doyle) and no money left to balance other weak areas in the team.

would love to hear Rhodes view on things, why so quiet.

Salford gone about it the right way. Sussed out the league in the first half, now they must realise that it is a poor league standard wise, so will really go for it this window and look to get out of this league at the first attempt, which is well within their grasp

Tim Steer on ifollow on the weekend said that in the matchday program notes, the Chairman said there's funds if the manager requires. Anyone got a copy and care to write what was said and it it's true?

I agree with the above about Salford, and this is exactly what the January window is meant to be used for. It's meant to be for extra players for the promotion push, and to move on players that don't fit into the current plans. We've got about four players that imo are not needed, and we've got gaps for players who are.

I get the impression that GB is a stubborn bugger. He likes to do things his way, and I think he doesn't want to admit he got his recruitment policy wrong in the summer (overloaded with central mids, no left wing, no back up striker), so therefore won't be knocking on Rupps door.

Ship some like for like midfielders out - Akpan, Devine, Palmer, Anderson - and get one decent midfielder who adds something different. Get a left winger to balance the side, and maybe we'll start to have a formation and team that picks itself, and we'll starting winning games again.

If Rupp has said there's money available - bite his hand off Gary! It's not exactly a regular thing our chairman actually coming out with something - take advantage!

I'd rather Rupp used that money to sack him.

Let me get this right. You think Salford who are currently 10 points behind us having played a game more have gone about it the right way.? If Bowyer had done exactly the same as Salford the pitch fork mob who are out in force now would have been frothing at the mouth months earlier than they are now. As for signing Will Grigg, his days of being on fire as the song used to go are well behind him. He's flopped big time at Sunderland and will be very expensive wage wise.

i think the point if i understood right was they know where they need to strengthen and have kept funds back to do it. Where as we have signed a load of players and already have a bloated squad with cover but not the right quality in key positions.

This is a subject that I raised before but not directly specific to this GB squad.
I was reminded of it on Saturday when I saw Alex Gilliead was playing for them.
In addition to his scoring a goal with his weaker left foot and ending up doing a decent job at right back
I was reminded that we do not have a ball carrier in this squad.
In theory our wingers or full backs should be the most likely ball carriers or failing that a creative central
    midfielder could do the job.
We are deficient in our offence when the back four have possession.
More often than not they end up launching because they have few other options.
Surely we should have a formula in place that we had with Gilliead who should receive the ball on half way
and be responsible for carrying us to the oppo last third. When he is in possession our other creatives can get into
space to enable the next pass to be positive.
I do not see a quality option within this substantial squad and would be delighted to have Gilliead or a Reach arrive
    this month.

And that statement is actually the one which upsets the apple cart of your post, TB.
    Don't get me wrong - I agree.
Yet as Bowyer is God to just himself - Nothing will change until HE leaves VP.

Edit; ....... Bowyer is now quickly being recognised as a Shaman in Football Management - Worshiped by few, but so many more are wary of his 'ambitions'.
