Our experienced players were the problem
NKP - Not up to the standard he set in previous season
McMahon - Went missing in Jan played ok when his head was back but a shit example to young players
Vince - Legs gone
Mcarthorse - Unfit 1st game never got going(appreciate he is still young but has 1st team exp)
Poleon - Average and lazy
Wyke - Same as Mcmahon
Hard to bring young players into a team if those are your core.

 

Have to disagree, with a full first 11 fit none would have been regular starters, as you say Robinson was the best of the bunch but hardly consistent, Patrick was given an extention on the back of his goal against Blackpool and never impressed after that.
It showed how poor we were at the end of the season when we were struggling so much, we hold Kai up and say he was better than Jones/Poleon, which I don't necessarily disagree with that just says to me how far we have fallen.

 

It would be interesting to see how many have renewed with that extended period, losing Grayson and still having no one in to take his place would hardly be an incentive.

 

No doubt your above examples did not perform as well in the second half of the season, most went missing not just McMahon around December/January but the likes of McCartan never showed much at the front end of the season yet looked better towards the end.
It didn't help with long term injuries to Reeves, Jones, Talyor,Chicksen, the likes of Adam Thompson should have been along side Kilgallon but his form was average at best, I'm not knocking them I just believe without the injuries other players would have stepped in before the development lads.

 

Possibly been harsh on Jones but I'm yet to be convinced, as for Poleon!!

I think that's what you get with younger players like Robinson - one week a start the next goes missing. he will have learnt from Warnock though which can only be a good thing.

He's not. he's rubbish.

he's enthusiastic and wants to be here, and wants to do well, excellent athlete, very fit but he's essentially an amateur player.

 

Wouldn't say he's very fit.

He was blowing out his backside at 60 minutes.

Probably just because he was favouring weights to cardio, like, and nothing a more professional training regime wouldn't fix, but last season I couldn't imagine he'd have been able to play 90 minutes even if he'd played every game.

 

Nah he held the ball up well won a lot more in the air against the big centre halves than Wyke.he was better on the floor than expected he is pretty quick to. Of course he will be judged on his finishing

 

so he's strong and tall. got it.

would you have him in the starting 11 next season?

 

He certainly improved the more games he played and IMO helped take the focus off Wyke but come the new season I would hope he would not be in our starting 11, bench yes starting would suggest our transfer window recruitment was poor.

 

Depends havent seen him enough of him and I don't know what hus finishing is like. However if he plays like he did he will be in contention he certainly helped Wyke play a lot better

 

Certainly can't disagree with Dom, he's a powerfully built lad up top but he get bullied far to easy for me, if he can't claim a regular place in last seasons starting 11 when we had injuries and poor for from many of the other players I can't see him being in contention this coming season, maybe make him available for offers.

 

if Kai Brunker is leading the line next season we are more fùcked than i thought. We need better if we want to achieve promotion- or even midtable.

 

We will see but the fact is when he played we looked better as a team and the results were better.

 

He does need to score though or we need to get more midfielders in who can score because another season on non-scoring forwards and non-scoring midfielders is probably going to end up like the last one I'd suggest!
