Another "Bang Average" performance yesterday however another three points gained. That's twelve points gained from the last six games one goal conceded and five clean sheets to boot.

Which ever way you want to describe the current performances up the results speak for themselves entertaining probably not but on the other hand effective and successful yes.

The upcoming January fixtures will be a real tell tale sign as to where we are up to with four out of the next five fixtures away followed by Cheltenham Town at home on Tuesday 28th January, interesting times ahead.

But we haven't won 6 out of the last 6 at home so your view of averaging a point a game away from home doesn't add up.

Was it that good ?, in all honesty I thought we were dire/poor/shocking for the first 60 minutes although Bowyer stated in his post match interview going 4-4-2 was always plan "B" around the hour make, I think the crowd chanting "attack, attack, attack attack attack might have helped make the two changes that made us look like a football team ;).

No it was not "Good" in any shape or form. I described the performance against Mansfield on Sunday as "Dire" yesterday I would mark the performance as probably a "Dire Plus" but the bottom line is despite "Dire/Dire Plus" performances we achieved six points;)

It sounds strange calling Bowyer and his formations out when we've had the long term injuries and players out with the virus, yet we're 4th in the league with a game in hand, we should be happy with what he and the players have achieved without playing particularly well in many of the 24 games we've played.

It's not a tough spell though, the performances now are very similar to what we've seen all season. I think some people seem to be deluding themselves that somehow Clayton Donaldson or Devitt being fit somehow equals a more fluid and attractive style of football.

I think the criticism comes because people genuinely believe we won't maintain the form unless the performances quickly pick up.

We are just 4 points of averaging that over 24 games with all the injuries we have had in the first half of the season is remarkably. And as we are only one point of the required total at the moment with a game in hand we are in a good position

The simple explanation is that l was not alone, that is two tickets, which at £20 each, unsurprisingly make £40.

I did post PRIOR that if l was alone l'd have left at HT.:)

Criticising Reeves seem very misplaced to me. The game was terribly annoying to watch for a number of reasons. Henley followed their winger into the centre of the pitch numerous time instead of pulling wide to stretch them out and create space us to attack. Palmer did not bust a gut to make any runs but I think he was maybe instructed not to venture up too much. McCarten several times actually walked from space to stand next to one of their midfielders when we had the ball. He just did not seem to want it at all. O' Donnell could have released the ball quickly numerous times when Vaughan was screaming for an early ball over the top or the wing backs wanted it but usually let their defence get back in position first. Other were slowing the game and not even trying to create space with any kind of run, denying Reeves any options. He was one of the few that wanted the ball and was trying to do something with it while others were slow and/or shriking.

Hats off to Connolly and AoC for trying to do extra. Connolly made numerous runs but only got fed occasionally so dropped deep sometime to try help out Henley and win the ball back. AoC pushed up the wing a few times rather than sit spare at the back with 3 on 1. He had a good game at the back but pushing up allowed triangles to be played with Henley and Connolly and get a few crosses in, one of which Vaughan probably should have headed in. He did not have the pace to get back when we lost the ball, though. Better teams would punish this. I think BRE would be better doing the same on the left if we play 5-3-2 again. There's something wrong when AoC is spending time in front of Reeves and Palmer, though. They ought to be better equipped to do such link play further up - but where was McCarten?

I think Oteh was right in his post match interview when he said in the first half the tempo was way to slow the idea of playing it out from the back with sideways passing is to find space down the channels it was pedestrian yesterday good tempo is vital in trying to play that way

I did semi pick up on it but you can never be sure around these parts nowadays. Rise tinted glasses sales seem to be at an all time high.

You did, but unsurprisingly most people l go with pay for themselves, so I incorrectly assumed you had just paid for your own, as you hadn’t specified that you had graciously bought someone a ticket, how was I meant to know?

I thought you had, in numerous previous posts, suggested that you would rather go to non league football, Harrogate Town if I recall. Given that they are £17 if purchased before the day, remarkably similar to City.

So quite surprised that you keep coming back.

Bang average is being more than generous in my opinion Dire Diabolical Dreadful would be more apt But as you say we have snaffled another three points. All well and good but let's see how we get on against the better sides in this terrible league. Like many others I am desperate to get out of this league and can just about put up with GB "putting me to sleep" but we must have one eye on next season promotion would bring us all sorts of problems playing the way we are against teams who can play football another season in this league would prove what many here fear GB and his style of play is not the man to take us beyond a top ten L2 club

Bronco I am not calling out GB, results over performance every time for me.Taking illness and injuries into account I am pretty happy with where we are, performances will hopefully improve with players coming back and up the league we go!
