Calls for Bowyer to be sacked are ridiculous.

But it's much worse than 'not good to watch'. It's dire, considering the players we have available.

I'm fine with being cautious, especially away from home. But yesterday was way beyond cautious. Five defenders and three defensive midfielders against the second worse defence in the division and a team that hasn't won for nine matches. It's ridiculous, and an insult to the travelling fans. If we aren't even going to try to win away games against teams in the bottom quarter then please say so, so we don't waste our money going. When Parky kept it tight he at least had Kyel Reid as a speedy out ball option who might just conjure something out of nothing. Yesterday we had nothing.
I'm generally regarded as a happy clapper, but what's going on at the moment is baffling me.

Mate, you could name Pep and people will pick holes in it.

I think your suggestion is a good one though.

    Bantam2708,
I obviously did not make myself clear I was referring to the claim of Fordy who had previously suggested that
BCFC should have an "Easy 4-0" win at Leyton Orient. I followed up my statement by saying "no other team are not going to beat the likes of Leyton Orient 4-0 away" by implication no other team are likely to win 4-0 AT Leyton Orient

With all due respect I think you will agree all the above results you quoted are totally irrelevant.

Worst thing is we have a fit and raring to go Jake reeves to supply the wingers/forwards with quick balls. He really has looked sharp for a player out for so long, we bring him back and then hit him with negative team selection that then sees him falling further back defensively. Although i'm far from convinced with any of wingers/attacking midfielders at least give them a chance to prove their worth. No wonder Vaughan looks dejected at times during games.

Its all irrelevant while Bowyer goes on the defensive. Two halves of football i've seen us dominate all season, against Port Vale and Swindon.

We are about 15 points off being safe from relegation.:innocent:

More seriously though, the recent vapid performances have left most fans feeling flat, me included, especially those who travel away. You guys need a badge for your away support knowing that its more than 50% likely you are going to be bored off your tits for 90 mins.

The stats for yesterday were poor. But for GB to come out and blame the forwards for misfiring is a bit bewildering, as by all accounts we played really deep with a back 5 and Reeves just in front. Neither Ismail or Connolly were brought on to at least cause them a few problems. Bringing McCarten on at 89 mins is a clear sign GB was happy with a point. And 0 corners. Wow.

Its there for the taking. Lets hope that Donaldinho comes back asap and things improve on the pitch.

It's baffling me too. What I can't understand is when he was forced into 4-4-2 the results showed a great improvement and everyone was happy. Then the first chance he gets he reverts to a variety of formations, none of which work. Of course we all want promotion but football is supposed to be entertainment and people will start to stay away if recent performances continue.

    RT,
I agree the performances of late are not easy on the eye, last three games in particular just 2 goals scored both from dead ball situations the formation of 3-5-2 I am not comfortable with considering the players we have available.

Last Saturday (Newport) GB stated he was "forced" into playing that system because of late injuries, yesterday he played the same formation presumably because of the win over Newport.

With most of the key players now back from Injury in my eyes I expect to see a more pro active game plan with an attacking / fluid 4-4-2 formation against Salford City, hopefully GB sees the same situation as me, we shall see on Saturday.

Have you seen any improvement in play since August
We still play the same dire mind numbing way now
This is a poor league teams know we are more concerned with what they do
    rather than what we do
Have shaken my head and expect the same on Saturday
We are not improving performance wise

Like many others i must have missed all the "Free Flowing Attacking Football" ripping opponents apart Some on here must have gone to the wrong game on Saturday !!!!!!!
Admittedly its where we finish at the end of the season but surely a bit of entertainment wouldnt go a miss should we get promoted this season and play like this in L1 then i really fear for us
GB may well repeat his one and only success but as a L1 manager he will struggle badly

I bumped into Nakhi Wells at Winter Wonderland that was the highlight. How can he not change the system after 45/60 mins. He's not got my backing any more. I'm thinking of giving the Salford game a miss. Just throwing money away on watching dire negative football.

Genuine question. Would you take ‘dire, negative’ football if it meant promotion or be entertained week in week out but miss out in the playoffs? We’re level on points with the autos so must be doing something right. We all know the script at home, away team nick a goal on the counter then put 11 behind the ball so sure it’s not easy on the eye but if it gets the job done, I’ll accept it. This is league 2, not the Champions League.
