Had this last week before seeing Jimmy Carr at George’s hall, went for something to eat wrote but where to go - Zizzi’s was full, Nando’s? Went for an overpriced Pizza Express as other than the fast food places in Broadway I was stumped for options.

Been there a few times on a Friday tea time with my daughter and granddaughter.... food's ok, booze is cheap and we usually end getting freebie limoncello or amaretto. Pool table, tv, owner really friendly, nothing not to like really, we always have a good time and there's usually just us there.
It's odd in a way but styled on an Italian cafe theme, albeit a bit on the scruffy side.

Eat at the Alhambra. My wife, daughter and mother in law went a few months back and really enjoyed it. Service was really good, as was the food apparently.

Is there still a steak/bbq restaurant next to the Jury's Inn Hotel?

Thanks for that. I like Saltaire but I think she is looking from somewhere walking distance from the theatre. Look like good alternatives to our usual fannys followed by Rajpoot or Shimla Spice

You could drop a nuclear bomb on Leeds Road and it would improve the area no end. What a god awful part of the world.

That's no way to talk about "Britain's Most Improved City"

Haha i’ve read some guff before but that takes the biscuit, there must be two different Bradfords in the country, the one i live at is dying a death. Most of the things they mention aren’t even Bradford they just have a BD postcode. To be fair get out of the city centre and outside the ring road and its a nice enough place, inside that has nothing go for it.

I only went once too. Bit of useless info here. Zouk was started by one of the sons of the guy who started Kebabeesh, who went on to become a UKIP MP, was suspended by Farage and I think then defected to the Conservatives.......unless I imagined it all :joy:

I live up in the gods in Queensbury, can see about forty miles all the way round on a clear day. 10 minutes or so and you're in lovely countryside. Down the Aire Valley is nice from Leeds going through Saltaire towards Bingley and onwards. the problem Bradford itself has is take away the wool trade and the death of the mills and there isn't a lot left. Quite like a lot of other towns and cities in the north. It has no major water way like a river or a canal. It wasn't so bad 20 years back but that 20 years has pretty much killed it. If you didn't have to go into the City, its not really a place you would go.

Did have a laugh when I read about "most improved city" the last few days on twitter. Think it was perhaps a Guardian article. The place is genuinely awful. Not sure there is anything they can do to improve it either.
