Can we really count last season. If you’re wanting him sacked and including his record last season, then by that logic we should have sacked Parkinson in 11/12. He had far longer to stamp his mark on that team and he could bring in loans outside the window, yet we were terrible that season and only just stayed up in a terrible league.

As bronco said Christmas is what I’d consider a fair crack of the whip, we’ve had 5 managers in 18 months we can’t keep doing it especially outside transfer windows. If we’re doing crap at Christmas sack and give the new guy chance to change things in January. Makes far more sense imo.

I suggested Christmas as that will give us a very good indication of what sort of season lays ahead with Bowyer at the helm, obviously if we are around say 15/16th in late November and playing the sort of stuff weve seen so far the decision may be taken then.
I believe whilst giving the players a clean slate for the coming season Bowyer should also be judged on this seasons results/performances.
Also if Bowyer looks to be struggling it would give the new guy a transfer window to do any transfer business.

Sounds good sense Dave but by Christmas we could effectively have written off this season
Maybe late October should be the "cut off" point
I think Mr Rupp with the money he has invested may want to see instant improvement
It's quite a conundrum but from what we have seen this season so far it's not encouraging
As last season we have on paper a team that should be doing and performing a lot better than it is
The million dollar question is who do we replace him with and would they do any better

Good point. But improvement from a club point of view or personal point of view?

    Both really
He could quite easily have walked away after Mr Rahics antics but chose to stay
and throw some more of his own personal wealth at it
So I think it's a fair assumption he has done his bit and expects others to do theirs in an adequate time frame (whatever that may be)
We need to keep him onside

Agree we need to keep SR onside and as I posted, a few weeks ago, I'm glad he is here supporting financially the club. I was one whom wanted Rupp and Rahic out when the flyover was active. Glad the former is still active within the club!!

But I feel the importance will be on the club being as self sufficient as possible. Thus, his financial exposure will be lessened.

The potential side effects are that the expectation of the fan base may need to managed. Whilst CD and JV look marquee signings, the rest?

As fans, do we genuinely believe we should be walking this league? We have the facts of our playing personal right before our eyes, the lack of balance, pace, strength, depth but some still feel we should walk the league.

This journey may be longer than some wish.

Yet someone posted a while back that Blackpool under Bowyer were no where near a play off place at Christmas yet they achieved promotion.
We saw similar with Barnsley the other season stormed the league from Christmas/New Year onwards, not that I'd be happy in either Blackpol or Barnsleys situation I'd prefer to be around the play off places come the New Year.

I've seen nothing to suggest that he's the man to get us out of this pub league.
    His team selections are bizarre.
He's obsessed with giving too much respect to poor opposition teams over playing to our strengths.
He couldn't get goals out of a man who's now scoring for fun.

He's making, arguably, the best strike force in the division look ordinary.
He's got a worse record than Collins.

That's enough for me. I'm bored of him and his "tactics"

I've seen enough of this division already and it's September.

If we keep him it's a sign we're not bothered about promotion.

    Nope. I'm not interested.

All your points are valid its difficult to support Bowyers strange formations and team selections I just feel it would make no sense to sack him now.
Any new manager would have to work with the same squad until January, I think its far too early to sack him.

I'm the same way a new manager has got Doyle scoring for fun then a new manager could get much more from these players.

You could start with 442. That might work?

If Ismail is fit for the Bolton "no game"Id certainly go 4-4-2 he needs to get a formation and stick with it and stop worrying about how the opposition setup.

Still pathetic. Still playing formations that don't work. Get out Bowyer. Get out.

If he gets sacked who do we bring in ? Just a simple question. parky I remember went an age without a win in one of his seasons with us and he didn’t get this level of crap. It’s a 46 game season and seems to be getting written off 6 games. We have 14/15 new players we’re not Barcelona. It’s a lot of new faces to bring together and get playing from the off has anyone thought he might be trying different ways of setting up last time I looked I don’t remember a team playing 4-4-2 constantly all season what’s the obsession. I’m just glad Edin has gone and we ain’t ended up like bury because it really could of done. We’re a league 2 club for a reason and that ain’t bowyer fault give the lad a bloody chance

If he starts Anderson or Devine after their performances tonight, or Akpan after his horror show at Crewe, another segment of support for Bowyer will die.
