I get pelters for saying Wood is a poor defender, I'm seen to have an agenda against the lad, but before anyone starts, I only dislike Wood the defender - I actually quite like Wood the midfielder.

 

First time I've seen it since I watched it when got it with season tickets other year. All the alarm bells were there looking back!! The scene when they were discussing transfers was a classic, McCall very red faced and looking at Abbo when Edin talking...looked like he wanted to punch his light's out!! Sad watching it again!!

 

I guess people think you have an agenda with Wood foe the very reason just posted. Your stat may be factually correct but is certainly not the reason we lost the last two games. Both games were lost due to our manager being out thought in both games. In both games Bowyers tactics can be described as being questionable. Newport pressed FGRs keeper yesterday resulting in match losing howlers. We let him walk to the half way line unchallenged. And as for our tactics yesterday the less said the better.

 

You're not still banging this drum are you? Surely even you must be able to see the deficiency in using team stats to determine the capabilities of one individual ?

There are 21 other players on the pitch outside of Wood who influence our results. That's 21 flaws in your argument before you even begin to account for other outside factors such as the opposition and team tactics, which is what cost us yesterday.

To highlight how ridiculous you sound, Park Bantam last season used a similar argument with Kai Bruenker. The team stats showed how our results were significantly better with him in the team , and he used the same extensions in logic as you're currently doing with Wood to come to the conclusion that he's A) better than we all give him credit for and B) should be starting games. The reality of the situation is that he was a pub player who was the complete opposite of what some cobbled together, largely irrelevant stats suggested.

The stupidly in your Chicksen vs Wood thread was there for everyone to see, and 120 posts later the same argument still sounds just as ridiculous.

It's nothing more than an agenda. You can't wait to see him fail.

 

Sound words in my opinion. Having given GB a two-year contract we’ve got to stick with him until and unless his position becomes untenable. You can’t sack a manager for a couple of early season defeats. He must be given a chance. Most of the players he’s brought in look okay at this level and he’s getting a tune out of some of last season’s failures. Let’s get tomorrow out of the way and see where we are then in terms of personnel. But we better not be a load of cobblers against Northampton!

It's unlikely he will succeed at LB, and anyone refusing to accept that is simply being stubborn.

He can't make up his mind about a formation: we've played 5 different ones before September.

He won't change his mind: once we kick off he won't change it no matter what. Even when the mutants in the crowd can see the problem he stubbornly sticks with it.

You want Bowyer gone after 7 games, out of interest how long would you give the next manager.

 

He's had 18 games now and lost 10. Conceding 25.

He doesn't know when to make changes, his formation and team selection is baffling. If he doesn't know what to do after a whole pre-season and now 7 games in. is he really the man?

 

So his successor gets 18 games or he's out, I get the frustration I was pissed off leaving Gresty Road but we have to give him till Christmas IMO.

 

Any particular reason why around the Christmas mark? That would be around 20 games in the season if you include the cup games.
