    Moving on following Saturday’s game....what’s your thoughts on what team GB will pick for this one?

    Crewe have had a decent start too but will have their weaknesses like most teams in this division

    Personally I’d like to see 442 and take the game to them, but GB has a frustrating habit of not selecting what many of our fans seem to be the obvious team!

    My team would be
    OD
    Mellor AOC BRE Longridge
    Devitt Cooke Palmer Wood
    Donaldson Vaughn.
    But there's no chance of that.

    Crewe play 4-3-3 so Bowyer will want to ensure midfield is not overrun even though we all know 442 is best

    Is it a risk with Longridge starting though? I’ve only seen him once, and he looked decent, so not sure. Maybe wood at LB and on the set pieces, move AoC to MF and bring Paudie in at CB? Maybe risky but you never know

    Although saying that, AoC has been relatively solid at CB so maybe shouldn’t tinker at the moment

    I’d like to see the new two start but not sure they’re match fit yet, imagine Scannell will come back in. Need to drop Akpan and Devine.

    My team would be a 3-5-2 with Wood and Mellor tracking back when defending: -

    ROD

    Paudie - BRE - AOC

    Mellor - Devitt - Palmer - Cooke - Wood

    Vaughan - Donaldson

    Pretty much zero chance of that happening though. He will probably start Patrick, Gibson, Devine and Akpan, then bring on Scannel, Devitt and Cooke when were 2 nil down trying to salvage the game.

    Just thinking out loud but why is it always us that changes how we play to accommodate the opposition formation? We seem to chop and change. Really wish we'd just find our best 11 and play 442

    He'll go 433 or a diamond, absolutely nailed on given Crewe play with three in the midfield.

    For me this would be the best option for that:

    OD
    Mellor AOC BRE Wood
    Devitt Palmer Cooke
    Scannell Vaughan Donaldson

    Now I know that midfield is too attack minded for an away game but we're struggling to create chances so why not just go for it? Its not like we've got a proper DM anyway and there's no way Akpan or Devine should be starting ahead of either of the new boys either.

    But in all honesty I'm fully expecting us to be unchanged from Saturday.

    That back four and keeper should remain for the foreseeable future. He’s just got to figure out how to get the misfiled clicking. I think it’s worth trying Palmer, Cooke and Devitt together and seeing like you say

    Exactly. As a fan who goes to a lot of away games I don’t mind being beaten as long as they’ve had a good crack at it. Something we’ve been hugely lacking for nigh on 18 months. There’s nothing worse than paying your hard earned cash and travelling quite far just for the players to look clueless due to a stubborn manager playing a formation that clearly doesn’t work. Play to the players strengths for god sake!!

    Also Crewe are playing Aston Villa in the cup tomorrow night so hopefully there’ll be a lot of tired legs on Saturday. Another reason we should come out of the blocks and go for the jugular

    Flying in from Dubai tomorrow and got my ticket for Crewe. Hope there is a good turnout from BCFC. Reading all the threads with regards to recent performances looks like not much to look forward too.
