A good post and I agree with a lot of it, however I don’t agree with the unless there’s a danger of relegation give him time sentiment. It’s a professional football club and we should be looking for promotion. I know for the majority of my 35 years following City and before that home has been the bottom two divisions, but the gap to the Championship is widening every year, we should be aiming for promotion, not a nursery for aspiring managers and young players.

 

I agree with that principle. We should be ambitious and demanding - but we’re not. And the decision has been made to go with someone completely new.....

 

People like to hark back to Kammy and Jewell as evidence MC might work out.

But Kammy achieved promotion in his first half season, and Jewell was under pressure before achieving his first promotion.

They aren't evidence of rookie managers receiving immense patience.

Richmond was breathing down their necks the whole time.

 

They we're also backed well in the transfer market. We had strong teams with both.

 

Trust me, edin will be too because if this goes wrong, he'll be left looking like the idiot, not collins.

 

Collins has been well backed also, let's not make excuses. He's said he's happy with his squad, but would ideally like a defensive midfielder.

Doyle is our expensive player in years and years and years. Far more expensive than any replacement for Wells.

 

He has been backed, true. Which makes the decision to appoint such an inexperienced coach - whilst shelling out on an expensive squad, strange. Not sure of it’s true, but I’d heard from a ‘well placed source’ (I know, I know) that we’ve shelled out close to £1m on fees and loan fees this summer. And we still need a midfielder, left back and striker.

I wonder if Terry Dolan's departure elsewhere in the city will lead to interest for a further local connection re the Academy or even COO. Not for me, but with the appointments made you never know what Edin will consider next.

 

As there is little positivity around the club at the moment and very little to look forward to I've bumped this thread to read some getting the situation and future bang on and some very embarrassing posts.
