I can see what Bowyer's trying to do and I like it. It would be great to have a fit Scannell (if there is such a thing!!) for all next season. I think Bowyer's man-management skills are such, that he could say to him "give me a good half a season and if someone comes in for you in January, and pays a reasonable fee, we will let you go"

 

I'm not convinced he has. I've seen him make far more howlers that have cost us than amazing saves that have got us something from the game.

That 'winding up' ended up in a dangerous player, looking like a pony tailed wimp (glad he was OK after that collision though)

It was good, for once to see some cynical slightly nasty tactics from one of our players (maybe he's our next Tony McMahon). You could tell the Rovers players suddenly realised that this was a team that actually wouldn't roll over. Sadly all too late, but good to see that Bowyer realises, like Parkinson, that this is a key ingredient to success

 

I'm trying to justify Bowyer's team selection certainly not agreeing with it.

But it's they type of shot of which we've probably had around 20 this season and none have got past the keeper. NKP stopped the player from breezing past him and did enough defending to force the player to make a desperate speculative shot. I fail to see why it's NKP's fault if the keeper simply fails to do even the basics of what he's there for. That goal should have been saved

Couldn’t agree more. Had a chance of still scraping out of relegation and Bowyer went even more defensive. Whilst there is a chance of avoiding relegation you might as well lose 5-4 than 1-0 . But hey look what he did at Blackpool.

 

From the totally bonkers appointment of the three stooges (Collins, Abbott & Drury) through to Bowyer's abysmal recent run of five defeats, only one goal scored and relegation confirmed!

The whole season has been an absolute unmitigated disaster and not least a total embarrassment. The shear thought of where we're headed is utterly depressing and it's going to be an awful long way back!

 

Right so if he makes saves to keep us in the game and our shit defence allows the opponent to score later on anyway, that's his fault?

 

Well I'm of the complete opposite opinion! Game of opinions and all that...

 

It's clearly the keepers fault you set of tools ! I think nearly all these players are shite or playing shite but this scapegoating is embarrassing.

To be fair he made some cracking saves early on in the season but, like the rest of the team, has gone downhill. I think he'd be above average league one standard with a decent defence in front of him. Not a world beater for sure but good enough.

Not getting Ball signed up for us in january has really cost the squad- too many loanees so no Miller on the bench.

If Doyle gets injured then who would have gone upfront- billy Clarke?
