Penalty incident at 1:26. Okay, from a different angle it's not a sending off offence at all, or even clearly NKP's to win, but it's still a cynical foul and stonewall penalty. NKP going for header but gets grabbed and spun around to fall on the floor on his back. NKP and Akpan appeal strongly after. Akpan heads for the assistant when the ref does not give it. Our other players don't seem to notice. You can hear the crowd call for it then boo. And the ref is not that far away and looks to probably have a decent view!

(Note that the goal was hit nearly straight at O'Donnell and hit his knee. Unlucky.)

 

Wow. I wasn't so sure at the time but that really was 100% a penalty

 

You see if that was the other way around, all the Luton players would've surrounded the ref and he would probably have given into them, as he did with an earlier yellow card.

 

On the final bit of action on the highlights Ball is through and according to Bowyer he says the defender was pulling his shirt which should be another penalty

 

Bore off with your penalties.

We didn't have shots at goal on target. We got what we deserved - nothing.

We move on to Saturday in a MUST WIN game!

Two good appeals for penalties to join many other ref mistakes this season. Luton the best team in the in the league we’re hanging on at the end using every tactic to run the clock down.
We have been crap.for most of the season and deserve our position but at the same time we have had no luck at all. Our last two performances give us hope that we can get the wins we now need

 

The Simon Parker equivalent for the Luton local paper said they were 'very fortunate not to concede a penalty' - we can only hope we get a bit of luck in the remaining matches

 

Balls should have scored that.

 

We didn't have shots at goal because people kept pulling us over and bore off with your must win games.

 

Learn to play the game and you will understand why Saturday is a must win.

 

Hi Fordy, there is definitely an angle here that we have not had our share of luck with the key decisions but I agree there is also a link that in some games we create so little that we probably look at these 'bad decisions' and feel more injustice - i.e. there is a truth that you make your own luck

 

Well I think we haven’t had any luck. Yes we probably haven’t worked hard enough, but we seem to have had the rough edge of the wedge on luck this season.

The reason we did not win last night is the other team were more together, they had a range of skills to employ, whereas ours are limited, plus they played dirty, something we don’t do.

@Fordy117 once again you say we must lose this match or otherwise we are in league 2, and it is up to the players to make it happen. I have seen no lack of effort, and especially since GB arrived.

Bringing in Wright to the bench was a good move, as the saying goes better to have them peeing out of the tent than peeing in.

100% if you're not creating chances or shooting on target then slim chance you will get the deserved luck or win the game.

 

Agree to the obvious point that you’re not going to get much in the way of goals if you’re not shooting. We rely too much on set pieces (ironic since we’ve been pretty dire on them the whole season) and a lucky break in and around the box. Butterfield goal against Peterborough proves we have the players to test the keeper from distance.

On Saturday I’d like to see us taking a pop anywhere within 25 yards if there’s nothing better on. If nothing else it keeps the keeper on his toes and worse case you’d hope we have enough in CB’s and CM’s to win the ball back for a goal kick.

I don’t like posting on other teams forums as a rule and will not outstay my welcome. However I just wanted to wish you well for the rest of the season. You gave us a very tough match and if you keep playing that way then you will stay up. I do think we did just about enough to deserve the win but then I am biased. Hope you turn the good performances into results.

 

We have had luck. That goal disallowed for offside last week against Peterborough, wasn't offside. Heads would have gone down if they'd have gone one up so early on.

It all balances out at the end of the season, and if we go down, then it's the players, management and board that have caused that, not bad luck.

 

Yep - It's time for City to deliver that old 'Soul' classic .... City (Sisters), are doing it for themselves.......
