    According to radio Leeds at 4pm we are still trying to get a deal done which will enable them to play tomorrow so the noon timescale the day before can't be correct.

    There's no doubt in my mind Wyke and Doyle would work as a partnership. The only problem is there's no supply when Payne is marked out. The wings don't exist and there's not 1 player who is decent crosser of a ball. Even Scannell is crap at that.

    The only thing that can be said is with a CW type player we should spend more time in the opposition half which in turn would help our defence

    I suggest you take their comment up directly with Radio Leeds since they don't appear to understand the EFL rules either.

    Have a read again of what @mickc@mickc said when he quoted the particular EFL rule or better, read the relevant EFL rule yourself.

    Obviously Radio Leeds have got that info from the club so only passing on with what they said as I don't know the ins and outs of the cut off time but I do know as I posted earlier Southend officially didn't sign Humphrey until after the 12pm as you say before they played us last week.

    I've no idea how or when Radio Leeds received their information but based on what you've said, they are wrong. That comment isn't based on my opinion or what I believe or what I've heard; it's in black and white per the EFL's rule book.

    I've posted this before. It's the EFL rule on transfer dealings including loans ...

    43.8 Subject to Regulations 43.2, 43.3 and 57, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his registration or the transfer of his registration (including, for the avoidance of doubt, Temporary Loan Transfers) are received (including by facsimile) and found to be in order by The League by 12.00 noon on the day prior to the date of such match.

    The rule can't be any clearer. If you disagree with that, that's a matter for you. And if you still believe that Humphrys played for Southend following his loan and Southend didn't comply with this rule, let our club know and they'll be able to challenge the result. According to what you've said, Southend fielded an ineligible player! However I have serious doubts whether that is the case!

    No I said it was officially announced after that time he may have signed before but for whatever reason it wasn't announced until later on,at no point have I said they fielded a ineligible player. As I said earlier I am only going off what radio Leeds were saying at 4pm and I presume the info has come from the club.

    I agree and thought at the time that he must have signed at least the day before but they held back the announcement - perhaps so that they had a secret weapon in their arsenal that we hadn't had time to do our homework on? We can but hope we have done something similar and now have an ace up our sleeve for tomorrow night.
