What's different about this is its coming from Hopkin - not some BS being fed to us by an owner.

If Hopkin says his target is unavailable due to injuries, I feel much better than Rahic-like figures mumbling nonsense because the pot is empty.

Remember Hopkin said a few weeks ago he wants new players the sign up before the window?

Hopkin is now lowering expectations!!

Rupp needs to put his hand in his pocket. Prove to us he isn't a let down.

 

No but we clearly need to get rid of some players first. We've got a huge squad with half of them making no contribution whilst taking a good wage.
Rupp isn't going to constantly throw money at it, we're already well over budget.

 

January was never going to allow an overhaul. It’s why the summer is so important and it’s what will be our downfall if we do go down.

 

He identified the players he wanted to bring in some time ago and unfortunately it looks like at least one of his targets has picked up an injury in the interim. It happens and it just about sums up our luck this season.

Absolutely. It is clear from comments in today's article that Hopkin doesn't rate about half of our squad and doesn't even think they are worthy of a place on the bench. The sooner we can move those players on or at the very least ship them out on loan, the better.

Funny how some say that Edin left us with deep problems that need sorting and you believe what Hopkin has said.

It’s not like shopping online Fordy. We need 3 or 4 quality players. It’s not about signing just anyone.

What's the big rush to get players in? We don't have a game on the 5th so after the Accrington match (where we can't get any players in for because of the Transfer Window) we have nearly 2 weeks before the next game. No point signing players for the sake of it.

 

Sorry but Hopkin said he wanted signings before the window opened which you're allowed to do.

Villa have done it. Liverpool did it last season by signing VVD.

The quality of player we need Is such that they’re probably on the fringes of their parent first team. It’s not necessarily even the case that our target player has picked up a knock - it could be that first choice players have taken a knock and our target may be needed for cover. Christmas is the most hectic fixture schedule of the season, managers aren’t going to leave themselves short. Asking to wait another week is perfectly realistic.

We need 3-4 quality players and a couple are needed in the first week to 10 days of Jan. I still think that’ll happen.

At the time he said the squad was underperforming. Since then something has clicked and they’re playing with confidence. He may have decided he doesn’t need as many as first thought.

I have a feeling no matter what the club do or don’t do, you aren’t going to be happy. The team are playing well so you can’t complain on that point, so you’ve decided to have a pop somewhere else.

 

The big rush is because Hopkin said he wanted signings before the window opened.

The sooner we get players in the better it's always the case in transfer windows as you want them to settle, get use to team members etc.

For me I have massive question marks over Rupp but we can only live in hope.

Bradford City and Newcastle seem to have something's in common.

I think you need to take a chill pill @Fordy117. The window hasn’t opened yet. The time to evaluate players that have left and come in is on 31st January or sooner if we have left the supermarket. Conspiracy theories about Rupp and Hopkin are not helpful.

If at the end of January we are no better, then yes you can rent forth all you like.
