Oxford bumming

Tomorrow is a monumental match in our club's recent history.

We are 7 points adrift of safety at the bottom of League One, at home to a team similarly in peril, albeit slightly less than ourselves. The fans have been dropping off all year long, and have now been enticed back for £1 as a last gasp chance to re-ignite the VP following.

If we lose, we could potentially be up to 10 points adrift having just lost to one of the worst teams in the division at home. That would probably kill any belief the players and supporters alike have for the remainder of the season and make our relegation to League Two an almost certainty.

If we win, we could be 4 points adrift of safety, unbeaten in 3, and potentially re-ignited the belief amongst the supporters and enticed some of those 5,000 fans to come back again along with the stay-aways.

On top of this, we have the protest fly over which will no doubt attract nationwide media attention and draw a response from Rupp, Rahic or both. It could be the final straw in pushing the poison that is Edin Rahic out of our club, which along with 3 points would be a huge turning point in our season and going forward.

It really is a huge match for many more reasons than the 3 points.

I'll be there and I hope many more are too. Let's make VP rocking again, get behind the team in full force (after we've rightly cheered the flyover) and turn our season around starting from tomorrow.
