Edin and maybe Rupp are fish out of water and probably thought that employing local connections would suffice and help them ease into Club traditions and dovetail with the fans. We are now paying the price for lack of expertise and experience all round. In a way it's like the blind leading the blind. I am almost certain that our Owners lack the quality to make informed footballing decisions, as their judgement appears flawed in those matters. Their investment is looking shaky and I would imagine hearts are beating faster and patience is running short in the Boardroom. I can't see them allowing the present situation to fester and would not be surprised to see them compromise and seek an experienced Head of Football to navigate us through this crisis.

 

As I keep saying Collins got the job because no one else would take it under the circumstances nothing as changed so who would take it now.

 

Have you watched any of the first 6 games?

Our two wins were 1-0 & 'fortunate' to say the least.

We're not very good.

 

I will have some of that optimism mate but doubt as you say we will have a decent manager on board in the next couple of weeks.

Frank De Boer was sacked after 7 games as Crystal Palace manager, so it wouldn’t really be too much of a shock if a manager - Collins this time - went around the sams time.

I reckon he’s got 2 more games at the most.

As the OP has said, he hasn’t really helped himself with the constant changing of formation. (And if results don’t improve and he is sacked, he also shouldn’t be sent back to the Under 18s).

 

Should be higher but with this squad of players mid table would be an achievement. A decent manager would at least get them looking like a football side but a lack of half decent striking options for Doyle and a woeful central midfield will see to it that this team goes nowhere. Just look at the bench yesterday, nothing apart from inexperienced youngsters.

I think he's going to lose the dressing room quickly, every time we lose and put in a poor performance the blame is placed upon the players. The thing is he's already played his strongest hand in that respect when he said the performance at Southend was unacceptable. I just don't think he's a very good leader.

In McCall's two spells as manager how many times was he critical of the players in his interviews with the press? How many times did he say a performance was unacceptable without taking any blame himself? I can recall times when he was blaming himself even when the players really were putting in substandard performances.

Our players clearly aren't playing to their full potential, but if Collins wants their respect he needs to shoulder some of the blame and admit he needs to do better, even if he doesn't believe it.

 

The same players who during the summer, most on here felt were decent signings. Granted, since the season started, they haven't exactly covered themselves in glory but as has been said by others, if they don't understand what they are being asked to do and their team mates also don't understand what they are being asked to do, it is no surprise that the end result turns out to be shambolic. Put a decent manager in charge of this lot and lets see what happens. Maybe nothing will change, but until it's tried we don't know and like I said, with 40 games still to play, I'm not giving up yet.

Pressure is building now somethings got to give a bad result on Saturday and there could change, the club is at a critical point, very sad times indeed
