I was relating to the (I want promotion now and if we don't get it I'll scream and scream and scream) fans on here. The majority of fans I've spoken to think he deserves a chance and that it's refreshing to appoint someone with new ideas instead of one of the merry go round managers. I know a few lads who post on here that haven't attended a game yet this season ,but have criticised everything that is Bradford City whilst sat in the pub.

 

Have they purchased season tickets, if they have does it matter ?.

 

Most would want him to succeed and do well in the league, The lack of a pre-season has meant that both lack of fitness of the players and that we are having it now in the first few league games, He must at least take some blame for the poor management early doors, The rest we will see

 

I think the point being made with regards to the highlighted text is they are complaining about something they have yet to witness for themselves?

 

And as I replied if they have purchased season tickets why would we care.
Isn't that a little like saying the lads who live abroad cant have any input into their team because they dont get to games ?.

 

Not sure what the relevance of a season ticket has to this debate - admittedly I have only read the last page - but I would argue that everyone has a right to express an opinion. However, the source from which those opinions are based will vary. Some will be founded on more robust evidence I.e. attending matches and others will be at the other end of the scale and soley based on hearsay.

Of the two extremes above I would argue there is greater value in an opinion based on having actually experienced the 'product' for themselves as opposed to basing an opinion on somebody else's view.

These example are extremes and admittedly people will also form a judgement from written reports, highlights and radio commentary etc all of which have value. However, you can't beat actually being there and experiencing it for yourself.

Those who go to games can't agree on many things, so I wouldn't worry if someone passes comment that I might not agree with and say it's less relevant because they did not attend the game.

Absolutely right Bronco, it's all subjective. I'd still give more weight to an opinion based on having watched the game as opposed to one derived from a second hand source though.

 

On the whole I would agree, but if Fordy went to a game I didn't attend, I wouldn't take anything he said about it seriously.
