... Unless the leadership and management is chronically poor, from the inept bumbling chairman planning ineffective preseason campaigns to a dire management team with no place in league football (appointed, by the way, by the inept bumbling chairman).

It’s a troubling image though. The natural order of things would be for a chairman to meet his manager privately before a game to wish him and the team well.

However it’s dressed up, having your chairman sat several feet behind the dugout and conversing like that, is worrying. It’s further fuel to the fire which suggests Collins in simply a puppet for Rahic to manage the team.

 

It was very interesting watching the City technical area this afternoon. I can only comment on what I saw and my interpretation of it. Comparing Collins to a property football manager like Powell was hard to watch. Powell prowled his technical area dressed in suit and tie issuing orders and instructions throughout the match. Applauding good play and not being scared of dishing out a bollocking to his players as needs be. In comparison Collins was a joke. First he dresses like he's wearing pajamas and stands there with his hands behind his back like he's some Seria A manager overseeing a Tuesday morning training session. There were also parts of the match when he was sitting in the dugout leaning back quietly watching the game. At one point Abbott looked like he was telling him to get up and do something. When we was stood up he stood stone still and mostly in silence. Not since the days of John Docherty sitting in the dugout chewing on his lardy dah have I seen such an appalling lack of effort from a City manager. He should go now. My overall impression?

 

Yes just listened to both interviews Collins and Wright. The one question I have that wasn’t asked is WHY were they not up to speed? WHY were they not doing the basics? It’s alright saying we are going to work hard to rectify, but rectify what exactly? If you don’t properly analyse the problem no amount of work will put it right. You have to know what the problem is before learning can take place.

 

Bang on. He doesn't know whats wrong, he's already shown that. He doesn't know what he's doing, god knows how the players are supposed to know. I feel sorry for him in a way, he might make a good coach some where down the line but at the moment he's like a fish out of water.

Seriously, its not ER's fault the chairmans seats are there is it? Maybe he wanted to offer words of encouragement?
You say the natural order is to do things like everyone else does? It seems to me that ER is the exact opposite of that.

Time will tell if that's a good approach or not.
