Thought he posted this "Is it not Collins who's picking the team/formation? I know Edin is heavily involved but not even he would go that far, surely?

I was replying to the comment he made, saying I had heard similar, I also never said it was true or as you suggest was happening, but it wouldn't surprise me that Edin has involvement in certain aspects of the team that is put out.

 

I don't like Collins. He comes across as very arrogant and stubborn and I think he's clueless and way out of his depth. And I can see signs that the players have already given up on him despite what some of them say to fill up the back page of the T&A. And his treatment of Killa is clearly on the instructions of Rahic which makes him a puppet to my mind. But he's not the problem, merely a symptom. I don't believe we'll get anywhere (except League 2) until the Germans leave the club, but how is that to be achieved? Would they sell up if the fans at home games turn against them? Will a consrtium persuade them to go? If Collins continues to fail, as he surely will, can Rahic sack him without losing face? These are potentially desperate times.

He actually said formations are irrelevant when the players don't follow their instructions. And he is right to say that.

The players chipped the game up today. Josh Wright said the management team are bending over backwards to give the team everything they need but the team aren't repaying them right now.

Jamie Lawrence said the team looked unfit and confused in their roles.

I do hope that MC sees this and stops tinkering with formations and just set up to the teams strengths.

 

All share responsibility because all are in it together. Needs sorting for the common good and quick. The Club doesn't deserve this fiasco.

 

Its taken just four games to get us back to where we were in the second half of last season. Still lightweight in terms of quality squad numbers, team playing with no idea of what they are supposed to be doing after an abysmal pre season, this on the back of Rahic appointing a management duo with no football league first team managerial experience who never applied for the job in the first place, not even as assistants. What could go wrong eh?

 

I don't take it as a personal offense @brisbanebantams I quoted I'd heard what Tawheed had posted, and found it hard to believe at the time, I never said it was true, but from person who told me I would be surprised if it was.

 

It was a crap post the first time you said it. It didn't need repeating.

 

Sacking Collins won't make one iota of difference, Rahic is running everything in the club and that includes in my opinion the signings and the team selection including the ridiculous tactics we are playing, anybody that disagrees with him have either been driven out of the club or have been sacked.
A new manager/headcoach will just be his puppet, why do you think so many prospective managers turned us down.
Collins was dropped in it big style, i think it was a case of take the job or you have no job.
I really do hope that things turn around but i fear for our club, i really do.

 

Maybe it would be best to pick a straight forward formation such as 4-4-2 and get the lads used to that - most of them already will be. Then stick with it. Only when they are totally familiar with that, will it be possible to start getting clever and mixing things up. There's too much new blood to keep tinkering.

I suppose it is hard though, when you can see teams exploiting us, which is clearly what happened against Barnsley and the change in formation in that case did help to a large extent, although if I remember right the change was to a standard 4-4-2.

 

Thanks for providing some context to the 'formations are irrelevant' quote for those of us that haven't heard the interview. I agree in part that he is right to say that but I also feel for the players as it came across in the commentary that they were all a bit confused about what they should be doing, which is bound to happen if you tinker with things too much.

Surely it depends when it happened etc. Could have been wishing them well at start of the game, or it could have been telling him to make a sub, or it could be .....
