Where did I say the season was over? I used the word pivotal, it's my opinion that we need a win there. It may well be that a loss doesn't define the rest of the season, I personally think it will.

 

Doncaster and Salford are in utter freefall and should be 6 guaranteed points. The conundrum is replacing Walker. Pattison is the perfect replacement as he plays the same space as Walker and brings others into play likewise. Odour showed some individual moments last night but is a different player to the two previously mentioned. I'm hoping Walker is back soon but not optimistic.

 

What's happened to the lad Johnson? He looked class in our other fixture yet I see he generally is an unused sub.

 

I an certainly no expert,but digging it up and re-seeding every May,and then playing on it in July,does not give the grass much chance to establish itself.

 

We will have to invite Titchmarsh down from Ilkley.

 

I think we have all come to terms with our bad start to the season and that has put us under enormous pressure to get anything out of this season. Our squad is unbalanced and could probably do with some major surgery if we had the money but we don’t so who ever comes in or doesn’t it will have to do.

I am more than pleased with GA response and the way he has the players performing and grinding out results no matter what.

Crewe are a good side and I am fairly confident they won’t have the pitch problems we have as they always seem to have a good pitch. We will no doubt put in a good performance as we have been doing. The result will have to take care of itself. However, I doubt whether we will return to the abysmal performances we had under MH or the 1st half of Notts County.

 

Oduor did okay, but was nowhere near as involved as Walker. Sooner he's back the better - what is up with Pattison now?

 

Looking back at last night, a point was fair enough and to be the first team to stop them scoring on their travels, shows how far we have come under G A in a short space of time.
Still think Cook should have scored, it was right in front of me and although hit towards the right of the goalie, it was a good height to palm around the post. Don't recall Lewis having a serious shot to save.
I thought the pitch held up well considering the amount of water that has fallen for weeks, j work outside and can say i have never know it so wet for such a period.
On a final note , thank god the transfer window is opening , Walker out a few weeks, Pattinson, who knows. Everyone else tried in that role has been poor and its something we need to solve soon, if we are serious about the playoff's.

 

On your latter part of your post. What has happened to chapman !? Surely his name should be in contention to replace Walkers absence?

 

flatters for me and another who seems easily injured. its a shame, as i do think there could be a good player in there.

 

No word of him being injured though.

 

I just hope Gent has a good replacement lined up.

My first post after the game said the conditions were atrocious very heavy underfoot, windy, rain in players faces, God your a hard fan to please, what's that 6 league games without defeat 4 wins and 2 draws 11 goals scored with 3 goals conceded after what we had to put up with before Alexander came I'd suggest were in for an exciting second half to the season.

It looked a great save to me unfortunately he was in a great position to get his hand to it and turn it around the post not sure that Cook could have done more with regards his strike, on the night he was certainly the busiest of the two keepers.
