Best display of football I've seen from any side we've played this season. Don't think it was a case of how bad we were (though we were pretty poor), we just came up against a team who have found a manager that can get the best out of technically decent players. We generally have a team with no pace that are there to be opened up with the right tactics. Our saving grace is most teams in this division aren't good enough skill wise to play that way. I've gone from watching a team that struggled to string two passes together with long ball tactics in Wrexham on Saturday to that last night.
Still a bit shellshocked to be honest.

One of the most lethargic and clueless displays i've see in a very long time

The only positive was that it only took me 2hr 15m to get home (154 miles) as the motorways were relatively clear for a change. Just got to do it all over again on Saturday now.......:OO:

Agree. They were the best side I’ve seen at moving the ball around the pitch accurately in this league this season. Their pitch is wide. It reminded me of Wembley. As McDonald stated we needed to be compact to almost give up the wings and defend the middle together. They could have had 8 last night. City were slow and lethargic from the off. I don’t know how we can practise before a game and then make such sloppy errors. At this level they often go unpunished. Well they weren’t last night. We gifted them the first by giving away an unnecessary corner. The second swerved but went through him. To his credit Lewis made several excellent saves afterwards including a 1 on 1. Playing Taylor last night showed his lack of pace. He was exposed. Platt may have similarly struggled as he isn’t quick. There are lots of wide open spaces at MK and they used them well however when we were on the ball it was reminiscent of hughes’ lack of threat. A good test for McDonald now. How do they bounce back? He’s earned the right to continue with his results so far. But they need a result and performance at the weekend.

He played for Woking last night, clean sheet and away win - my son went and said he played really well (pace and calmness)
He has been a bit in and out of the team as manager reverted back to his start of season team due to mixed run of results

Sounds like he's found his level.

I think in fairness to McDonald, last night showed why a player manager doesnt work in the modern game. He was bang in the middle of that sh*t show, and to be honest needed his assistants to see what was blatantly going wrong and make the changes mid match. We'll never know for sure whether KM would have done anything differently had he been on the touchline, but I believe he would have.

IMO Morecambe looked a very good side plenty of movement on and off the ball but although they more or less dominated us for the full 90+ minutes they didn't create the chances MK Dons did last night, what was more disappointing last night was some players looked to have given up and THAT is not acceptable.

I listened to him after the game and IMO his comments did not reflect on the game I was watching, I don't want to see anyone lose their job but he does talk some crap at times.

When’s Oliver fit because Cook was awful again last night following on from his poor display against Wrexham.

I've noticed that ever since the first goal went in you've been Flip flopping again Jon. Maybe just make a decision, are you Hughes out or Hughes in? Because at the moment you seem to be both depending on the score at any given time.

Hughes had to go, I'm not sure why you now doubt it after one bad performance in 4 and if the squad is indeed "flimsy", well that's just adding to the compelling case that it was absolutely right to sack him.

Yes on the video today I also noticed that, but he then jumps "why" and the ball goes under him right into the bottom corner, I'll get pelters for this but its O/K fans saying if it wasn't for Lewis we would/could have conceded 6/7/8 but IMO more to the point he fluffed both their first two goals, and not for the first time this season, it would be great to get a view of the second from behind the goal, although Payne struck it well did it swing in the air because if it didn't for me a straight save pushing the shot over the bar ?.

I did suggest him quite a while ago. Apparently he was never considered. I wonder if anyone in the hierarchy at VP had even heard of him.

And then imagine Halliday, Platt, Stubbs, Taylor, Ridehalgh doing the same.

That's the reason it didn't work under Hughes so it's pointless bringing in like for like unless we sign a whole new back line.

    Nah 2 RT.
90 seconds in the bamboozled sideways flick from Bobby made me chuckle.

Why? Aren’t we supposed to see how he reacts after a defeat. That’s what all the dong bats wanted earlier this week….They got their wish!

Hardly a wicked swerve, why did he line his defenders up like that giving Payne a 3 mitre gap to hit the ball, a well hit shot but should have done better.

Aye, let's just give them the title now because they hammered a very poor performing side?

Will Williamson take them up? Who knows but knee jerking because we completely didn't turn up is hardly proof that they got it right just yet!

Let's be honest, the won't be playing a team that performs as poor as that many times this season.

A big well done to those traveling fans who attended last night and as you say @SteveC@SteveC you'll be there again Saturday I'd take my hat off to you guys if I wore one.
