The problem for Hughes right now is that he's gone for size over athleticism at the back. That starting defence today should never play together in that formation again. He needs to shift out some of the non starters and get quality in the side.

 

Darren Moore wanted 4x his wages before leaving Sheffield Wednesday. Chris Wilder last managed a championship club last season and Nathan Jones last managed in the prem last season.

why would any of those drop down 2/3 leagues? That’s some strong stuff your having there.

every single manager we sign has been out of work for half a decade or last managed in Scotland.

By this metric we would bring Gary Bowyer back. Which I actually would like.

We never pay compo for manager. hes on a “multi-year” deal which puts him past 2025 as his original contract was 3 year from 2022. So thats a big compo payment that.

I just want Hughes to Succeed but he makes it hard to think he will. He spent all summer saying we were going to play on the front foot and picked 5 defenders. I think his negative attitude will cost him his job before the end of the season. But I sincerely hope not because it will mean yet another season in the wilderness

In the past twenty years have we had a manager to go on and do better things or has their career peaked when they at this club?

the only manager i can think of is Parky who got bolton promoted out of league one but I think he peaked with us getting us to a League Cup Final.


Off tangent rant

Why do people still think changing a manager just suddenly makes us better? The one time we dont twist is the first season we actually improve on the last since Parky left… its absolute insanity and naivety to assume someone like chris wilder will come in and immediately get us promoted.

I cant find the proof you claim. I would genuinely like to see it proven, but cant see anything that proves Chansiri wrong.

it is also possible he was underpaid when he first took the job and wanted championship wages. If he was on 50k before i think 200k is a fair wage for a championship manager.
