Actually border, the female linesmen and refs don't do a bad job, a damn sight better than the likes of Drysdale, Boyeson and Mark Edwards anyway!!

Well I don’t agree with her. I think if they want equivalent pay they need to generate the fans and sponsors who are prepared to back that kind of salary. They also need to separate themselves fully from the men’s game. Then you can legitimately ask for extra pay.

Yep...I know a few women football fans in favour of equal pay. Asked them if they go watch and support Bradford City ladies.....you know the answer.

How do they get experience at managing men's football if they are never appointed?
Personally I think Emma Hayes is very good tactically and always comes across as knowledgeable when she is a pundit on TV. I think she has the personality and gravitas to manage in the men's game. Not many other obvious candidates at the moment I agree.

Paint drying is a better observation. Over hyped, for TV, nonsense.

I will be the first of this season.

Go now Hughes and take Hodges and Gent with you.

    Shocking recruitment, shocking tactics.

I said earlier this week that I've never looked less forward to a new season as this, and today's horror show compounds this.

This season feels very Derek Adams before a ball is kicked and today adds to that

after the disappointment of the play off defeat last season I hoped a change of style and a decent attacking team served up. sadly not.

A long bumbling mid table season in prospect. There are at least 8-10 sides better than us comfortably this time around

That performance for me was just as bad as anything under Jackson and Taylor. Completely agree. He needs to go.

After recent years disasters I'd really like us to have a go something different and stick with someone, but MH is trying his best to make this impossible as it stands. We really missed a trick last season in not getting out of L2, yes we made the playoffs....Progression n all that stuff, but I think that was despite of MH rather than because of MH.

Bigger mess than Hughes… do you honestly trust the people who would hire the next manager to get it right?

Hughes is already in must win territory. If we drop points at home to Colchester the mood will become sour, I don't think there'll be many who could sympathise with 0 or 1 points from Crawley & Colchester.

I have to say, I'm with you on this one Idle. I wasn't convinced at all last season. We bumbled into the play offs when the automatic promotion spots really were there for the taking, and we failed miserably having stumbled into those spots. We never really got into the swing of playing on the front foot. Never gave any side a hiding, and let's be honest, without Cooks goals we'd have been lower mid table!

Ok the playoffs can be somewhat of la lottery, but it really hurt with the manner of how we failed. So in the closed season, MH said he knows where we are short. He said hed highlighted where it all went wrong... yet its plain for all to see, the issues have not been addressed at all. Our weaknesses have not been rectified, we're arguably weaker than we're were last season. Our recruitment has been less than convincing and this overcomplicated approach to formations with L2 cloggers has just been shown to be completely ineffective. A simple approach bears fruit at this level. Steve Evans had Stevenage hoofing last season and they walked straight up.

I give him until October. If we've not seen a marked improvement, Hughes has to go. I can't bear another season of dull mediocrity.

I certainly wouldn't be too hasty and pull the trigger anytime soon, because if he suddenly sees sense and goes back to basics 4 at the back etc. Then he will grind out enough results to limp us towards the top end area

Cannot stand the guy, but I would personally drive down to Stevenage and drive Steve Evans up here to manage us. He would walk this league in charge of us. He is a winner, unlike Hughes who hasn't won a thing as a manager
