I posted the Yorkshire Evening News article in the Carlisle match thread by mistake, meant to put it here.

Danny Ward among the other players released, left-sided winger/forward.

He is 32 though.

 

I thought they were offering him a deal?

Oh yeah, they've offered Ward and Koroma deals.

Danny Ward hasnt been released. He is considering a new deal but Bolton are interested too.

 

My son knows him and they have mutual good friends. Son says he has fallen out of love with the game and doesn't enjoy playing any more. I'd avoid.

 

First summer signing then if he can be persuaded

 

I think if we go up the boy Critchlow will sign for us. Cant see us being able to compete for his signature if we dont go up. Will be a few L1 clubs interested no doubt.

 

Let's hope the death threats haven't left a bitter taste.

 

I wonder if Crichlow will favour a move back south?

 

Wonder who is making the retained decisions at Huddersfield.Warnock has left,and I don't think they have named a new manager yet.

 

These decisions would have been made months ago.

 

So now Peterborough lost and all their top players will want to leave that small club for massive Bradford City, do you think we'll also see Lukaku here next season as Chelsea looks to offload him?

For sure, the only potential issue with Lukaku is would he want to relocate…

 

Quickly turning attention to next season, my concern is who can we realistically attract without offering decent pay incentive?

With the National league promoted teams and L.1 relegated, how high up the list do we sit as the more attractive clubs to sign for?

Will the stadium and attendances still factor?
What budget do we have?
Is the ‘Hughes’ factor as impactful as it was at the beginning as this season to attract the talent we need?

For sure Wrexham become the club all players want to be part of. Where do we compete?

 

You would think our budget will be top 3/4 again.
You would imagine Wrexham/MK Dons/Stockport would have bigger.
Forest Green/Donny/Notts County/Salford/Gillingham will be very competitive too.

 

Can't see Stockport being around to worry about next season

 

Don't write Carlisle off we've played them 4 times and they have IMO been the better of the two teams.
League game up there although Cook had a mare with regards the chances he missed they could have been out of sight by half time.
At Valley Parade they matched us and could have won it when Gibson hit the post with the last kick of the game.
First leg of the play off tie second half they looked like they may get back into the game they certainly gave us a few scary moments, and yesterday as it turns out they did exactly what most football fan knew they would do put us under pressure from the first whistle, and we never really got a foot into the game until Derbyshire's equiliser, the rest is history.
