It's what he does Steve, it's what he did in the first leg. Second half we barely made an effort to increase the lead. What was the question folk were asking coming out of Valley Parade? Not what a great win but have we done enough? It's bitten us on the arse big time.

How often do we hire a manager then down the line say their last set of fans were glad to see the back of them? Maybe those that hire and fire need looking at.

We were absolute garbage and got what we deserved. I had a bad vibe about this second leg, which sadly proved to be right.

It would have been interesting to see where we would have finished this season had we not lost Wright in the January window. Losing Harry Chapman at such a critical stage of the season has also been a massive blow. We will of course never know. However, that left sided imbalance was so evident today.

A disappointing end to what was at times a very promising season. Some foundations have been laid, but there are clear deficiencies. Let's hope we get our recruitment right this summer and build on the progress made and get the job done!

Agree losing Wright was a massive blow. Chapman was more hit and miss but seemed to be hitting some level of form when he got injured. Tend to think we would have secured autos with both them in the team. Wonder what Wright is doing these days?

two turgid negative performances 'Tart', its not chess, its footy. Im questioning Hughes passion for the game after that 210 minute bore fest. Thank god we didn't take that bore fest approach to Wembley we would have been sent packing there too.

    Unfortunately its still on ifollow
The whole back 4 are shit not just stubbs. Slower than a snail.
First time in 6 years in the playoffs so did something right . I do think the defence is poor though far too slow .

It makes it difficult to sack him when he has improved the club standing both on the field and off. I really like him but his ability to put together a winning team with his negative mindset is just unacceptable. If I was to wake up tomorrow and find he has left the club I wouldn’t be bothered at all accept we are back to square one and our ability to appoint managers is woeful. We seem to find the good ones by accident rather than design.

We lost this tie the moment we scored last Sunday when we went straight on to the back foot instead of taking advantage of being at home
Hughes has to be given another chance I have hated the boring negative way we have played this season so either a big change of tactics or the right personnel to make his tactics work is needed sadly I don’t think either will happen and we will be seeking a new manager by Christmas

    Absolutely
    Dreary Derek a prime example
Lack of "Football Men" and experience at the club maybe
Other clubs don't seem to struggle as much

The trouble is we've an owner who knows nothing about football, a CEO who knows nothing about football, and consequently a series of managers who get us nowhere.

Have you ever seen a more turgid central midfield. How the hell Cook has scored that many goals with that creativity I'll never know.

I always think of two clubs that were either equal or below us not that long ago in the past, Brentford and Luton. They bottomed out and got sorted at boardroom level before anything else.

Put it this way neither club relies on checking their junk mail to hire a manager! The club is a ship without a competent captain with a vision and the ability to execute.

If we had to hire another manager tomorrow who would realistically have any confidence?
