Im with you Jon, no time for knee jerk reaction. I’m disappointed and over it it the same time. This wasn’t the game that lost us promotion, there were several, all against “ weaker” sides. That’s the fault line, not today

We were beaten by the better team over two legs….. roughly 30-50% of the squad will be refreshed, so we go again. A lost opportunity created by a failure against “ lesser” sides.

Well thats not true, getting to the play offs for the first time in six years was the achievement.

Everyone knows that. Stop getting triggered over nothing.

They were beyond awful the first leg and half of the second!

We've been poor to watch all season, it's been Bowyer ball but with a better keeper and striker.

I think if you appoint managers that spend most of their recent history battling relegation then you're probably going to get that style of football....

All we've done for most of the season is rely on Cook to get us a goal, and then defend a slim lead (if we don't bottle it). We spent the last 45 mins of the 1st leg clinging on to a 1-0 lead in a two legged tie AT HOME.

It hasn't been attacking, promotion chasing football. It's been poor, ponderous, and mistake filled in a really poor league. Having very minimal goals from everyone else in the team points to that. I can only think of the two Sutton games where it was enjoyable to watch, and that was mostly because of Banks, who won't even be here next season

 

I think it does take 2 seasons to build a squad so he gets another go at it. The very first priority is to build a pacy and mobile midfield. If I have to watch passing backwards and sideways again I will definitely be missing in action. We need two good strikers. Wingers so we change the system. Hughes also needs to learn tactics at this level that means listening. Zonal marking will not work at this level also inviting pressure on ourselves is not a tactic I embrace.

I am really fed up even though I didn’t think we could handle the playoffs. Our ‘pragmatic’ football will always lose in a playoff match, you need aggressive and creative football and the ability to defend set pieces!

Sat in a traffic jam in Carlisle. Bag of nails. Young girl in the row in front of us had her head split open by someone throwing a vape at her from the home support after the game had finished and they won. Why? Idiots. Poor lass was in bits.

In terms of the game. Hughes negative change to bring Platt on didn’t work. Again. It’s happened more than once.

We were asking why. Banks had just got us back on the game creating the goal.

Hughes should take stock but that decision proved costly.

 

We better go and find ourselves a striker then!
