Well, ...it keep the undefeated run going, and Cook scores again, and...there must be something else...we can't be relegated! That's it. Rochdale couldn't catch us, now 'Pools can't either. (Unless we get points deducted for something...)

No way to call that a good point; two dropped plain and simple. MH seems to be channelling his inner Beagrie -- it was Beags, wasn't it, who said courage in football was doing the same thing for the 16th time after it had failed the first 15, because it was the right thing to do? -- he seems to want a set side playing a certain way no matter what. I actually can't argue with that, but maybe some changes are needed when time after time the desired results aren't coming?

Sadly I think he is. Listen, I think Walker is real quality in this division but since Stevenage game he’s looked well off the pace apart from select moments. Why he wasn’t rested in amongst that collection of back-to-back games is beyond me.

Equally I’ve been disappointed with Chapman this season but cannot understand why he hasn’t been given more minutes at these games where we’ve struggled through to a draw or late win.

 

Best squad based on what! The squad is distinctively average and we are being carried by Andy Cooks goals

 

Entertaining game if a very poor result, so many good chances we’ve scored from far harder this season than some we squandered today. Sadly only Cook knows how to actually score.

 

It's definitely serious. That first half was horrendously poor and predictably turgid.

 

that was two points dropped guys very poor. You need to take your chances. Oh an if were get in the play offs anyone I mean anyone can score and beat us .....

 

Agreed goals win games and no matter the manager some of this lot won’t be chipping in with their fair share.

 

Cook is saving the managers and most of the other players bacon at present (and has done for much of the season)
3 draws on the trot , just when we had chance to make a real statement - just hope Raynor asks some probing questions today of Hughes.

Cook had two very good chances and Gilliead had one to answer your question, we had as many chances even first half than in games like Tranmere and Colchester. Sorry but you can’t have watched many home games this season if that was as bad as even the two above which we won.

 

Such as - ‘why did you leave Costelloe on the pitch after not hitting the target with any of the 3 great chances he had and when the game was still level with 25 minutes to go’?

‘Why wait until the 89th minute to make a triple substitution?’
And
‘Why do you believe the home form continues to be so poor’

 

I don’t necessarily agree with this, but we’re closely approaching the end of the season and still experiencing frustrations and asking questions related to our lack of consistency. This is what is concerning when you essentially enter a knock-out competition.

Morais just nailed it - Hartlepool to their credit gave us a game, but the Carlisle’s of this world find a way to win this game and this is something we’ve been so inconsistent with so far this season.

 

Its not the best squad. One of the largest maybe, but not the best. Certainly not.

We have the best squad on paper. a top 3 defence, an abundance of experience in midfield, some of the best creative players on paper in the league, an the top striker in the division. and were fecking 5th

36 leagues games few goals from anyone else and not 1 from a defender. Set pieces they know just mark cook.

 

The lack of goals from elsewhere is a problem. Not goals from the back 4 all season is poor. Gillead doesn’t chip in, Walker doesn’t score enough, and as for Costelloe….
