why even bother they will try anything to make out our lot are the worse fans going ............ if they are picking up the odd isolated incident they you know they are clearly struggling ........... we have had decent support at most away games and the majority have passed of trouble free
I have been in certain supporters coaches and we’ve arrived at certain pubs and they couldn’t wait to have us back in the area again :) maybe folk should concentrate on stories like that rather than the odd loon out there

Clearly there is a lack of incentive on their behalf to fix them as they would cost a pittance to replace and could be sold off to a number of clubs (Grimbsy, Bradford, etc) to pay for themselves.

. Then that’s down to City is it ????? If they can’t be bothered replacing them then that’s down to them not us

Whoever said that? It's down to them and lack of hassle but keeping them covered up.

It was you who first brought up the point about clubs turning down extra money, which is what they are effectively doing by not replacing them knowing the away end would easily be sold out for a few games in the season.

Who knows what goes through the minds of the police when deciding these things. They probably don't look to see if it happens a lot when specific teams travel, they probably just look at what happened last time we visited them.

Garbage. Of course they share intelligence between forces about different teams and their specific moronic elements.

yep they probably do share info but just because a team doesn’t cause issues elsewhere will not stop local police restricting things if there was trouble the previous year

No probably about it and yes, you are correct in your statement about past history being taken into account but your original comment makes it sound like they draw up a plan on the bag of a fag packet.

looking at some of the decisions to move games I think they might do it on back of a fag packet

I was on that very train, the carriage down from the singing. I can't say there wasn't any damage caused, i can only say that i didn't see any vandalism, just a lot of happy city fans amongst the packed carriages. I hope the singing didn't upset folk though, i know some don't like it.

That midweek league Cup tie at Anfield was the reason I said the most intimidating place.

Walking out of the away end at the end of the game and walking back to my mates car in the opposite direction to the City fans being escorted back to the coaches was a very intimidating walk, such a relief to get back to the car unscathed and out of Liverpool

Sorry I didn't realise you was commenting on the same game, I've posted before with regards the help we got from the police that night knowing we had a mates girlfriend with us who was 7 months pregnant and they didn't give a toss, their parting advice was if you pull up at any traffic light and someone asks if you know the score don't wind your windows down, thank goodness a group of around 7/8 Liverpool fans escorted us down to our cars, very frightening experience mate.

We had similar response from police. One said to us that he couldn't guarantee our safety if we walked back to our car in the opposite direction to the police escort of the fans back to the coaches. Not sure how he thought we could get back to the car then!. He also said don't open your mouth to talk if someone asks you for the time or tries to discuss the match, because if you don't have a scouse accent, they will have you, charming!

Ayresome Park and Roker Park were also dodgy places to travel to independently in a car.

Good luck with op by the way mate

It's a bit silly and pointless trying to get 4000 football fans to sit in their designated seats, IMO much better for fans to sort themselves out those who want to stand and sing/chant usually take right in-front of the goals spreading out as more join those who want to sit or in my case need to sit can go a little further out and still enjoy the game.
There is nothing worse than being stuck in an area where you have to stand or not see the game, and that's not having a go at those who prefer standing, unreserved seating can work for both sets of fans, let common sense preval.

For me, Maine rd where £100 damage to car in exchange for a radio barely worth a fiver, got smacked outside Roker park after that Norman Corner winner and chased back to the car at St. James park, Newcastle .....

We must have spoken to the same coppers they said exactly the same to us about not giving strangers an answer when they asked for the time, trouble was we'd already done it and that's why they became threatening towards us.
