Burton have bid for Josh Umerah from Hartlepool, scored at a good rate there for a terrible team, in his first proper season at this level. Sounds like they want Johnson, although someone tried linking them to Cook last week.

 

Sam Stubbs, CB from Exeter was mentioned on social media yesterday as signing for City before the deadline. Twitter ITK accounts are now spreading the rumour too. Would imagine that means Timi is out on loan if we bring in yet another CB?

Keeping up with the trend in bringing in Costelloe and Bola after both had been injured for over 3 months each, Stubbs has also been out since August with a long known knee injury. Below from their paper.....
"Exeter City defender Sam Stubbs has moved a step closer to his long-awaited return from injury. The centre-back hasn’t featured since August after suffering a recurrence of his long-standing knee injury.

The 24-year-old has had an injury-plagued time with the Grecians since his arrival in January 2021. He didn’t feature until November after a succession of issues with his knee, but was a mainstay and a key part of the team that achieved promotion out of League Two."

 

I'd do a swap with Hartlepool Umerah for Cook, Umerah at 25 has a better up sell if he does well from 25 when he hits peak at 28

 

Telford another one season wonder

 

Halliday came to the club with a big injury past. Ever present so far and better than any full back on the books. Let’s keep our powder dry!

 

He has 7 goals and a couple of assists. Not that bad considering all the chaos at that club!

 

Sorry BB that’s not a lot to shout about though is it. What’s happing off the grass shouldn’t really come into it, unless of course he’s not even first choice?

 

Telford a victim of circumstances like most. Chose a good salary like most would but didn't anticipate having owners that haven't got a clue about football. Would probably have more at a well run club

 

According to the CA, Odusina and Sutton have gone.

 

I can't understand why City would want an injury prone centre half. Exeter's manager is probably keen to get him out of his squad.

 

Sounds like Stubbs is in, Sutton is out along with Odusina leaving on loan. Add to that the Songo'o salary and there is enough in the bank for another slot to be filled if he needs it.

 

Lad is 24 but hasn't played much. Is he injury prone or summat?

 

Reoccurring knee injury apparently

 

If we are bringing in another defender then It looks like we don’t trust either Odusina or Kelly to cover the centre back position if either Crichlow or Platt were to get injured ,especially now that Songo’o has left.

 

We need 4 Centre Backs to cover injuries and suspension

Cricklow, Platt , Kelly plus AN Other. ( Assumes the info re Odusina is correct)

 

Your comment would be fair if the changes were all boardroom level but they aren't, it's been all about changing managers which impacts formation, tactics and form and that directly impacts the players. It was only a month ago their owner flew in to sit in the dug out and help their 'was then' temporary manager.

 

Not City related, but transfers. I was just looking through the premier league transfer business , so far this jan. Of the deals where a fee has been disclosed, they have passed £420 million with approx 33 hours to go. Its madness.Could be £600 million if you add the undisclosed. No wonder football is knackered in my opinion.

 

If true , that's 8 out if you include Harrott and 6 in if Stubbs signs. That is one hell of a tweak.
I reckon Hendrie, Threlkeld and East could still go out, before midnight tomorrow.

 

Chelsea have spent about 380m of that 420m - bonkers, not sure how the fair play thingy works when you see all their signings.
