    I’m sick to death of these early pitch inspections.
    Go back to the good old days of turning up to the ground at 2.30 to be told game is off!
    Pitch will be 100% playable at 3pm but the patheticness of the world we live in today means they won’t wait that long to find out.

    How do you know the pitch is not playable, you been on it this morning. Ice everywhere around the stadium , are you wrapped in cotton wool and been sat in the house all week and not ventured out for anything at all.

    Advice for any Carlisle fans who will be down in Bradford by the time this game is called off at 12, don’t worry, there’s options. You can either take the M62 then hit the M6 or you can drive the scenic route up to Kirkby Lonsdale and join the M6 there.

    I'm certainly not a fan of calling a match off a day before unless the situation is such that there is no way the pitch has any chance of improving, I just feel that in this day and age with all the data we have that there is no excuse from not being able to make a decision by 10 am at the latest based on the previous situations.

    And if they really can't as they haven't been recording the relevant data from the past inpectsions than it is perhaps something the EFL and FA need to get on, computer modelling is highly accurate these days if you can feed in enough data into the model so perhaps they need to start building a database of both each grounds unique configuration and also equipping officials with pitch sensors that can read a variety of conditions both in the air and in the pitch itself so then coupled with forecasts for the area it can make a fairly accurate recommendation early enough so don't waste a long trip from non-locals but also don't waste everyone else's day while they wait around

    Seems there’s a desperation from some on here to get games called off.
    Nobody wants Tues night games !!!

    Yes it’s difficult for fans travelling far and wide but that’s not the clubs fault, they should inspect the pitch at 3pm and if it’s off it’s off but I doubt it would be. Fans will leave the stadium disappointed but tickets will be valid for the rearranged game.
    And as far as having to pay staff / stewards etc etc. I’d be pissed off if I was one of those who don’t get paid if there’s no game having given up their Saturday to work.
