I sense the hounding of another manager in the offing. Shall we at least give him a season?

 

Sometimes you're just crap. But I think what frustrates most, is that you look at the squad and there's obvious quality there. But it's being deployed with a style of play that doesn't look to adapt and is perhaps not suited to games at this level. You need to have a bit of desire and directness to impose yourself on games, then maybe you can play a bit. With is, 80% of the time we lack intensity and urgency. Its just passing for passing sake, no purpose, no real goal threat. We're better in all areas than we've been for 3 or 4 years, but its not entertaining to watch at all. And it won't lead us to success unless we adapt.

 

Thanks for posting this link. Listening to the commentary I was amazed that Smallwood was named man of the match.
I didn't realise that if Chapman was off form it affected the whole team.

 

What a bonkers comment that was about Chapman

 

It's easy for me to slag the team off after the shower off shite I've just witnessed.
The tactics deployed by Hughes are starting to really upset a lot of supporters.
It's almost like Derek Adams part two with his obvious stubbornness the way we set up.
We want to stay in the Cup as long as possible bellowed Hughes in his pre match interview.
Bit of advice Mark make sure your players understand to win a football game you have to put the ball in the opposition's net without the need to pass back all the time towards our own goal.
That might help and it would certainly please the home support.

Actually we are more a danger to ourselves than to our opponents, which will take some sorting.

 

It’s absolutely criminal not to at least try set your team up to entertain the home crowd.
We had 0 shots on target today against a very poor team and that’s not acceptable.
Winning away games in front of 600 people is all well and good but when the home fans turn on you your days are numbered as a manager.

 

This could be a blessing that we can now concentrate on the league get the team playing whilst others in this league are still in cup competitions they have more chance of injuries and suspensions whilst we have time to rest on cup weekends

 

As blessings go it's a bit of a shit one though

Yes but I'll be honest I don't want to go through the season watching the rubbish I've watched the last two games. Even before that it's hardly been riveting.

 

the old concentrate on the league bollocks .............. a good cup run tends to help along the way .......... now fair enough if we where flying in the league I could forgive it but we ain’t ............ today was a free hit a chance for us to actually go out and score some goals but no not with the passing around at the back shite .............. honestly I wouldn’t give a shit had we lost 3-2 today least went would have been looking to win that game but that was pathetic............ I was sat there at half time thinking we would come out and batter them but nothing at all till 20 minutes from time ........... we wait that long ????
Why not make mass changes a lot earlier ????
Sorry but football is an easy game it’s only complicated when folk make it that way and sadly Hughes is doing that ........... with that squad we should be going out and battering teams but yet again a sub standard team turns up and walks away with a result yet again and that’s down to these wank boring tactics ............... if we fail in these two away games then I can see the Northampton game being a powder keg attmosphere and Hughes can only blame himself if it happens

 

Calling a manager out after a set of results we've had of late happens up and down the country but let's be honest Mark Hughes ain't doing himself any favours and ultimately he will pay the price like anyone else in a results based industry.
It would be very silly to think his tenure at our club would be simply in name alone.
We've just lost income from another cup competition and the reality is simple were plying our trade in League Two,if it wasn't for the huge support shown in ticket sales we would be struggling financially like many businesses out there.

 

That was as bad as anything I’ve seen in a while. With less quality last season, we got at teams and created chances. Why oh why is it left to Platt to try and play 40 yard passes? I don’t entirely blame him because Smallwood and Gilliead should be the ones dictating play. I thought we’d upgraded on Watt with Smallwood but I think we’ve actually gone backwards in midfield.
If Hughes doesn’t make changes for Tuesday then something is serious wrong. Pierera, Wright, Chapman, Gilliead need dropping. Wasted opportunity today in my eyes…

 

yet the years we actually do well in the cups we tend to do ok in the league dont we ???
The going out of the cup is a blessing is a load of bollocks had we won today and won the next tie then we could be on the brink of a huge draw ..............no excuses at all for that shit today the 6k that turned up today deserved better and the poor sods who have purchased season tickets deserve the same ........... yet again we run into another manager who think he can pull the wool over our eyes ........... we have to get out of the league THIS SEASON because if we don’t then don’t be thinking that they will sell the same number of season tickets next term ................. folk have been suckered into it year after year with false hopes this will be the last time it will happen
