Gilly is not being lined up to be right winger imho. The squad has so many permutations, I would yet struggle to pick the 11.

 

Gilly did well towards the end of the season in a deep role suited him well

 

Agree, but there are far more options now.

 

Thats because Gilli was shit on the wing and was actually effective in the middle, as we saw at the end of last season. When he is to play, he’l most likely be at cm. Same as Songo, yes Songo is a cdm but he has played at CB before an will likely be playing CB again for us. It is a position he is actually decent at

Staunton & FCD are not playing at full back out of choice, its being done out of necessity (forget the friendly yesterday, im on about in general)

in regards to FCD last season, it’s because there was no one else to cover at RB. They are both Centre Backs. By trade an by nature, they would only play at full back if we had no other choice

As for Threlkeld, its only at Plymouth where he played RB. Every other club saw him play at CDM

I noticed during yesterdays game that Chapman was initially deployed out on the right rather than the left which is his favoured side I believe

If that is a sign of things to come, I can see our forward line looking like this

With Harratt cutting in off the left and playing off the last defender

 

People saying that we won’t get Dion now. I still hope that we do. The one area of the squad that looks short is RW and I’d imagine that we’ll get a loan or two later on in the window like most clubs tend to do. However I totally agree that there will be a few departures now - there has to be.

 

So basically you are just choosing their positions. Gotcha...

 

Difficult to recall a better balanced squad in the club's history, brimming with quality and star power.

I was on about his cameo yesterday.

 

I know this place better than the casual visitor also - and to be absolutely clear I'm talking about the city centre. There's nothing you can tell me or show me about Bradford I don't already know.

Obviously it's not without its problems but it can't be denied it has many gems and is full of potential. People who visit for the first time are expecting the sithole you claim it to be. They've been influenced by the ill informed narrative that there's nothing here worth visiting and doing so would be putting your life at risk! Totally ridiculous!

Always refreshing to get the views of somebody who's experienced it for the first time themselves. I also recall Blackburn Rovers fans commenting on what a nice centre Bradford was and made for a great away day.

 

My return trips remind me of the possibilities that Bradford city center has but sadly, as I walk around bits of it, it is too easy to focus on how dirty it is and almost overlook the undoubted gems that it has.

Anyway, recruitment thus far may or may not be a success but we’re into the 2nd week of July and it’s probably complete, unheard of in the last few years. I think it is this “prepared” conduct of our business that is inspiring optimism.

 

What's worth visiting in the city centre?

 

Left back needs addressing. Dunno why, but I think another central midfielder also. Defensive rather than offensive.

 

The Alhambra brings people in and soon the new Music venue will bring many more. There is also the science and photographic museum. So there are things to see and do in Bradford
