Mass testing of the electrics ????
I went down last week and the tannoys where being mass tested so it plausible that the lights needed to be tested at night

still we will know within the next 36 hours if it’s bull I reckon it’s the new away shirt reveal probably be tommorow night

 

The lights will be tested in order to meet the requirements of Sky

 

I'm actually quite scared. The last time the lights were on late at night for a signing, it turned out to be Theo Robinson.

And more importantly the stadium Safety Certificate, which includes Fire Safety Certification containing all emergency escape lighting and signage throughout the stadium.

Common sense to check all these critical infrastructure facilities before the season gets underway.

 

Not only common sense but a requirement, Kevin.
As you say there is the Stadium Safety Certification, without which matches can't take place, hence the testing of P.A. system and Emergency Lighting for evacuation purposes. As far as floodlights are concerned Clubs are required to meet standards imposed by the EFL/FA, etc., depending on the level each Club is playing at. At this time of year when darkness doesn't occur until around 10.00 pm that makes it a late night for some.
I bet those involved wouldn't mind the season start of my younger days when the first game was usually around 20th August, at least it's a bit darker earlier by then!

 

Common sense but 10PM at night isn't the normal time to check things like this, Theo Robinson handed a new bumper four year deal.

 

Fear not. Lads are away on holiday so left lights on incase of burglars.

 

They'll never find our trophy room.....

 

It is done when it’s far more favourable to undertake checks, in this case when a facility is used frequently when it’s DARK.

 

And if they do find it, it would be empty.

 

Thanks for the back up. I was responsible for 12 retail locations employing a large number of people and it’s critical to get this right. After all I would be the fella who has to stand in front of the man with a curly wig if something went wrong . A club with our sad history has to take the lead!

 

I can't for the life of me think why we wouldn't check the efficacy of the floodlights at 2pm on a summers afternoon tbh....

 

They need to remember to lock the doors then! Went down for kids shirts on Saturday and the gates were wide open - not a soul to be seen so snuck in and had a nosy.
Was passing on Sunday so out of interest drove down the road - still open! All those trophies will have been ransacked!

 

Got away with a claret and amber carpet. Old un's are the best.....

 

At least he remembered to turn them off on his way out.

 

Based on current electricity prices, Theo cost us £20k

 

So any update on the big reveal ?
