Went for a curry at the International on Morley Street this evening. Must be at least 30 years since I was last there. It's certainly been spruced up a bit since those days.

Onion bahji and chick pea & potato starters were decent. For mains I ordered lamb & bhindi/okra karahi and my brother ordered the lamb & spinach karahi, which we split half & half. Both were excellent - really succulent meat, very tasty sauce and plenty of the veg. Other half had the fish karahi, which I finished off for her, and it was also very nice indeed. Portions were generous and all mains came with a choice of 3 chapatis, one naan or boiled rice. I opted for the chapatis, as is inevitably my wont, and wasn't disappointed - they were large, beautifully cooked and served pleasingly hot.

Highly recommended. I shall certainly not be waiting another 30 years before going back.

If anyone on here is ever looking for an Indian restaurant in Inverness I recommend Mangrove. We had an excellent meal there on Sunday.

Met the brother-in-law for a couple of post-work scoops and a curry. The plan was Omar Khan's but it's closed. Dunno if that's permanent or not.

As such we did the International. Nice to see a Bradford business busy, and justifiably so.

Kept it simple: popadums and pickles; chicken karahi; chicken madras; chapattis.

    Superb.

Can't decide if to make one in or not. Mates got married there just before it all changed and Haworth took a backseat. Was it good?

I notice he's now got the Three Fishes at Mitton which looks decent.

We treated ourselves to the 5 course menu (with a few tit bits thrown in). Started with asparagus then sweetbreads, turbot, duck and finally a rhubarb parfait.
I obviously don’t have the same sophisticated palate as you, but I enjoyed it.
Off to Frances Atkins new place, Paradise tomorrow - in a garden centre in Killinghall:unsure:

Anyone got anywhere for lunch for this Thursday? (Nothing too fancy but somewhere I can get in at short notice)
    Bradford/Leeds area would be ideal.

Ate at Knead in Halifax again last night for the 2nd time. Slighly irked by the 'your table's not ready yet, you can get a drink in the bar', despite the restaurant being quiet when we arrived. No biggy but perhaps a bit of an underhand way to get us buying more refreshments.

Anyway, the pizza was good and in the Neapolitan style of big, blistered crusts. Controversially I went for the ham and pineapple. Couldn't finish it all. 20220602_194907.jpg
