Bit harsh mate, he's a Yorkshire man born and breed we're not renowned for giving our brass away, I'm sure he will have donated money to charities in the past and future.

 

I think everyone is confused here. The pension fund isn’t the gibb family pension fund.

It’s the pension fund for all employees of the flamingo land organisation and Gordon gibb has absolutely no say it its running.

Once he sold the ground to the fund he stopped having any influence and simply got his money back.

Don’t forget Rhodes and Lawn set up a separate company to hold the asset that was the shop and office block and made a personal profit when it was sold.

 

Being an employee he is therefore a beneficiary of the “self-administered pension fund” according to the Yorkshire Post

 

I can't believe the pension scheme thing is still being explained. It's been over 15 years and I'm sure we've been over it dozens of times on C&B.

 

It isn't clear whether he is an employee as well as a director. So no idea if he belongs to the same pension scheme - directors tend to have their own arrangements as a rule though. Flamingoland is unusual in still having a private sector defined benefit pension scheme for their workforce. That's a good thing for employees. Assuming it is a defined benefit scheme - can't find much information.

Whilst personally welcoming interest from Gibb and Tordoff, I am a bit apprehensive on how unsettling this maybe to all connected to the club, not least our new head coach Michael Collins, who is surely under enough pressure to get off to a good start to the season given the flak the board got for appointing him.
Seems a bit strange and unprofessional on how Gibb has hinted at his possible intentions through a local journalist, at such an early stage. We all love gossip and rumours, but surely the time for going public, would be if actual negotiations were under way. The way it reads, no approach has been made to Rupp or Rahic and Rahic seems to hint that any such approach would be unwelcome anyhow.

Be interesting to see how this pans out in the coming weeks and months.

It was mainly tongue in cheek, although also aimed at those who vilify the current owners for not "sticking their hand in their pocket and showing some ambition". Jack isn't known for throwing his money around, so it'd be interesting if the takeover did happen how those fans would treat him if/when he decided to keep his hand in his pocket.

 

I wouldn't know what Edin & Stefan do in support of their local Parish Church, I can see where he's coming from any donation should not be questioned.
