Who's next manager

To be honest I've not been sad to see any of our recent recruitment "specialists" go.

Recruitment has been woeful for seasons now, hence the complete rebuilds every summer.

 

Believe Steve Evans has been spotted on the roof of the Midland Road stand, stripped to waist, his beer gut painted claret and amber, singing the greatest hits of Smokie in order to further stake his claim for the job.

Trueman for the rest of the season. We looked organised and played like a team tonight. It's a shame the squad is so poor, but we need this togetherness to stay in the league.

Kenny Jackett sacked tonight..... he was linked when McCall was sacked last season if I remember rightly.

 

It's more likely to get him the job than his recent managrial record.

It would seem if a candidate attends a game a few fans put two and two together, stick a few bob on him, and the bookies are swayed.

The club might be making a conscious decision to delay a new manager coming in. Lets be honest, the squad is a train wreck; I don't think any manager gets much of a tune out of this group. A new gaffer comes in, performances and results stay garbage and there'll be no benefit to ST sales.

 

Whilst ideally we could do with a long term manager being appointed this season so they have time to assess the squad and plan for the next transfer window, I can see a scenario where we appoint a survival specialist/old hand till the end of the season in order to ensure we get those 10 points to stay up.

 

That kind of complacency could leave us with a scenario where Trueman stays in charge until the end of the season and again gets hailed as a hero when we beat Carlisle in the last game of the season to avoid the drop into non league.
