Who's next manager

The way people at the club(Sparks and Cooke so far) have been bigging Trueman up I’m starting to think he’ll get the job unfortunately, hopefully just until the end of the season if so.

Wonder who’ll be next to big him up, stay tuned to the BCAFC propaganda to roll on next week.

Fowler would make perfect sense.

Trueman won’t last 10 games.

 

Think they are just trying to get the fans to believe and buy into things again.

 

Fowler makes no sense.

This is normally where I'd outline the reasons, but you're the one making the claim. On what level does he make sense, Fordy? Tell me a little bit about the tactics he employed in India, and what he brings to the table.

 

It makes perfect sense. It put Bradford City on the map as he’s a massive name in football. He will automatically attract players because of his name. Players will respect him. He is a good business man also and will be able to help the club out in the other side of the game.

Not fussed about India but he played a 4-3-3 I believe.

The club names a name and a manager that will be ambitious. Perfect sense for me.

 

Yes believe in Trueman, no need to bother if it’s for 1 or 2 games. I wouldn’t get your hopes up on Fowler, but I suppose it will be time that tells.

 

Yeah, I'm not sure Fowler's name means much.

I'd rather just have a competent manager.

I could name you several players that are more famous than Fowler that I don't want managing Bradford, and several of them are running Salford City pretty badly as we speak.

 

He has applied for jobs with English clubs for years why do you think he has never been appointed

 

In coaching terms, I have no idea whether Fowler would be right. Good players rarely make for good managers. However, IF he were appointed as part of a plan to forge links with Liverpool, to get access to quality loam players and anyone they release, it makes sense. It would at least be a plan. We could frame that plan around a more modern, high energy, high press type of football and be a 'development side' for Liverpool. Is it a stretch? Probably. But don't underestimate the connection Liverpool and Fowler have.

No interest in bringing him in because he's a name. But if it were part of a bigger, coherent plan, I'd be uo for that.

 

Running Salford badly? From 8th tier to 4th tier in 8 years....

They're spending a lot for little return so far, but they'll get it right much sooner than we will.

 

Serious question why would Fowler be perfect, is he involved with a club developing youngsters, we can assume if Robbie has applied he has his badges but ho hands on experiance.

 

It's all relative.

Teams like Crawley and Fleetwood got to League One without any problems, and while they had a suitable amount of money, nothing like what Salford have. Burton got to the Championship pretty quickly.

Salford, given what's available, should have won this league last year, let alone be preparing a promotion push for next season. They should be a Championship side without much issues, the things that are holding them back aren't the same as the things holding us back - but with the Neville's at the helm, it's hard to expect them to have much success in the next five years.

 

Time will tell. I'd wager that they'll be in L1 before we are.

 

Maybe Fowler can put a consortium together to buy the club and manage/Own his own little play thing

 

Appointing Fowler would exacerbate the tensions and toxicity in the large section of our support who are really Liverpool or Man Utd fans. We need to steer clear of such appointments.

 

Gary Neville has held his hands up and said changing Manager's every 6 months is stupid.
Hence Bowyer is getting some time.
He seems to be learning from his mistakes.

I don't think we are learning from ours.

 

The Nevilles just don't have it, in my view.

Two fantastic examples of world class players, who are fairly intelligent, who have massive respect within the game, who look and feel like they should be roaring successes outside of playing, but aren't.

If you're just not very good at managing or running clubs, that's that, I'm afraid. These guys seem to get gifted ludicrously good opportunities all the time, but just can't make the most of them. They're not fit for purpose.
