    If he serves his 4 game ban whilst a Gateshead player, he is free to play after Gatesheads game on Tues 18th. If say City signed him before Saturday, we wont be able to see him play until Walsall on Tues 25th.

    Teams interested might just drag it out another week so they can use him a week earlier, than just buying him now?

    Thing with Charman is he has a four game suspension to serve so he won't be playing in a match day squad for the next few weeks. But if we're intent on signing him, we should be making the most of it. Bring him in early and get him settled in because he's going up two divisions and going from training two nights a week to full time training every day. It's not the easiest of transitions, especially physically and whatever striker we bring in, we need them sharp, fit and ready to go as soon as they're available.

    That's what a club who's remotely competent in the transfer market would do anyway.
