He’s not great but I don’t think the equaliser was his fault. Songoo made no effort and was probably knackered. And why wasn’t the cross cut out? Again, the lads were jaded.

tbf to Pitman the placement was great. He’s a good player. Shame we don’t have an option like him when you look at the guff on our bench.

 

Not sure why we were jaded, not like we've been under pressure with fixtures and weve not been playing Tuesday/Saturday. We are just a bang average side with bang average players. Our current position should be no surprise off the back of it.

 

Thought the challenge on ROD early in the first half was a straight red TBH-their lad made sure he made contact as best he could and from where I was sitting it was his knee that made contact with ROD's head.

As for the goal-if he was on his goal line like he should have been instead of being in no mans land, then he casually collects the header and we win the game.

In a game where we miss countless chances, then leave a forward completely unmarked in acres of space in the last minute of the game, how is it the keepers fault?
The problem is poor finishing, poor decisions with final balls and lack of options to freshen things up when legs get tired.
Added to that - today I’m concerned by how many of our players were out on their feet in the last fifteen minutes. Cooke, Watt, Vernham, Gilliead - all knackered

 

We weren't jaded until much later in the game. In the first half we were anything but jaded.

As for the challenge, it was almost as if the lad knew we had no keeper on the bench and had remembered a pre match message to stick one on the keeper

 

I was hoping the knock he took in the first few mins was going to rule him out for a few yrs.. terfible terrible keeper, has cost us at least 9 points this season.. not going anywhere with him in goal.. drop him NOW!​

I immediately thought that the challenge in the opening few minutes was deliberate knowing that we had no replacement keeper. It would not surprise me whatsoever if there was direct instruction from Joey as such. Had that been later on in the game when the ref was aware at how reckless some Bristol Rovers players would be, that would have probably been a red.

I sincerely hope that challenge has not put O'Donnell off getting stuck in to 50/50 challenges etc going forward.
