Most countries offer subsidies to companies expanding or building new sites, The EU is the worst culprit for "subsidising" companies to relocate to EU sites, And of course some major EU companies would have gone bankrupt years ago without a finger in the EU jampot through bad times, The UK is now free to do the same and compete

But you've added no facts, as I posted backhanders to get a company to reallocate or stay in its original location have gone on for years, the scare tactics of the remainders were that the likes of Nissan, Vauxhall would leave if we left the EU and its not happening just as the EU will not take over as the finance capital of Europe and Canary Warf become a ghost town as some predicted.
Maybe the likes of Nissan and Vauxhall have seen through the EU and reailse this is the beginning of the end for the EU.

EU’s former Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier demands French ‘sovereignty’ from European courts (msn.com)

Who'd have thought the very man who was telling us the European Court of Justice should be the top governing judicial court now says :

Mr Barnier – who is running for the French presidency against Emmanuel Macron – said it was time for France to “regain sovereignty” lost to the European judiciary.

    That sounds familiar .

“We must regain our legal sovereignty in order to no longer be subjected to the judgements of the European Court of Justice or the European Court of Human Rights,” the former EU Commissioner said on Thursday.

Mr Barnier repeated his call for a referendum to impose a five-year moratorium on immigration to France from outside the EU. “We will propose a referendum in September 2022 on the question of immigration,” he told a rally in Nimes.

    That sounds familiar .

Good luck with that Mr Barnier, getting that changed whilst still being in the EU, then again playing to the French electorate might get you a few brownie points.

    Brexits a shitshow

The amount of red tape i have to go through to send a simple product worth £3 to the EU is ridiculous.

On top of that the amount of returns ive had due to issues with customs is high. I had to turn off sales to the EU in my Amazon seller account because Amazon have decided to lump the seller with the tax costs instead of the buyer.

If I sell a £3 product in the EU I receive less money in comparison with the UK.

I can send screenshots of hundreds of sellers with the same issue. These are just small businesses trying to get by.

Would someone like to tell me a benefit of brexit so far? One that outweighs the economic losses incurred by Boris's oven ready deal.

Its a shambles... hope brexiteers are proud of their debacle.

It seems as big a pain, if not even more so, selling to NI, part of the UK

It's this sort of petty bureaucracy that ruined the project. Why would a trade block care what goes on a pont glass.

Part of the issue that you're having is exactly caused by that (and obviously shown to us through Brexit) but their rules around trading with "third nations" have the same overly engineered pettiness. But these are the issues that all third countries had while trading with us before Brexit and we couldn't do anything about it. Not saying it's immediately better now but its simpler to change.

There is a argument that you're better off being inside the tent pissing out rather than the other way round but if the EU rules are overly intrusive and cartel-like you're probably better off trying to burn the tent down.

Youre welcome to pay all my extra costs for your symbolism and vaguery.

Its laughable that you say all this when our govt is cartel-like passing vast sums of public money to their friends. Or how the EU is the only place that has customs rules for countries outside the bloc. I send to america, have done for years and the same customs declarations are made to them as for the EU. The USA has a better way of handling them but thats understandable given the EU had to change the system for brexit.

Your response to this is simply to regurgitate old tropes about the EU. As though it was some red tape nightmare being in the EU whereas now its not. Ive never had so much red tape in my life running a business as I do now. Therefore you speak out of your arse as usual.

But I'm not speaking out of my arse. There are 2 issues you're suffering.

    1) the EU rules for dealing with third counties are - and have alrways been- onerous and complex.
    2) Brexit caused us to be exposed to these when dealing with them rather than just when dealing with other Third Countries.

Both of them are completely true. Its not a trope. Your issues are living, breathing proof. If the EU rules for Third Country trading were simple and straightforward then you wouldn't be having these issues so you can't dismiss it.

Thats not to say that USAs way of dealing with it is better (they're also an America first "cartel" or that our government is good. Neither of those are correct but I didn't say either of those things were.
