Im not sure you can use them as a valid example. They were a massive outlier flushed with fake money. They had Erikkson as manager. All their signings were Marquee. What are you expecting as a Marquee signing? It means someone obviously better than the rest. It was only a few years back since i had Daniels in my fantasy football team. The way players look after themselves that classes as Marquee to me. Its all relative

You are listing journeymen, has beings and never beings. Daniels way past his best at 34 and released by Shrewsbury and Pompey recently. Hardly a marquee signing in my eyes.

I'm not sure Paul Mullin would have been "marquee".

He's 26 and had never scored more than 10 in a season before last year so there is definitely an element of wondering if he's a one season wonder or not.

Glad you mentioned Cooke, Roger. Of all the games I have watched since pre season started, Cooke has been the best midfielder on display by a country mile. His stamina is unreal.
Add to that Songo’o now he’s getting fitter and the ever improving Watt, that’s a formidable midfield.

If Watt could improve his longer passing game he will turn out to be a terrific asset and he’s coming on leaps and bounds.

 

He was kept quiet by that Marquee signing Nial Canavan

 

He could also do with cutting out the unnecessary fouls.
