I paid by cash and have been taking up my option of reduced season tickets since. I share the opinion of those that say anyone that didn't pay in full for any reason or got a refund and haven't lost out should not be claiming the reduced prices. Any argument otherwise is weak and the club have definitely lost out on a fair amount of income. Admittedly, it would've all been wasted and just lined the pockets of more players and agents, but still

    Does seem odd.

Unless the finance company recouped enough of the money as part of the admin or through an insurance claim to warrant writing the remainder off rather than spend money clawing it back

Agreed. There's not a hope in he'll a finance company wouldn't have chased the money though so clearly there's more to it than it being a standard finance deal.

Maybe @Dennis@Dennis knows a bit more about the make up of the deal?

I know very little about it since the idea of paying up front for anything involving GR never appealed!

However, if anybody has the original details about the 25 year scheme and the associated loan arrangements, a quick check on who the loan agreement was with should determine whether it's directly with the club or whether it's with some kind of personal finance provider.

Had the financing side of the scheme involved a 3rd party company providing straightforward finance to individual fans, I doubt very much that they would have waived the repayments!

the deal was rolled over in the first admin as long as people carried on paying so I presume the club kept their records updated and anyone not paying would have had their tickets cancelled just like if they didn’t pay previously. Obviously it all changed with the second admin.

Which ever way I still think those that got a refund from the credit card companies and are still taking the freebie are no better than someone letting a second person use their ticket.

Or watching iFollow on dodgy TV sites without paying the club the £10 to watch the game legitimately.

In fairness Dennis, the option to pay to watch the game wasn't always available before covid hit.

I've slept since so I can't recall exact dates as to when I first heard about the cancelling of DD's. Certainly no one seemed to have their tickets cancelled though.

Yes; my comment was really abour the 20/21 season when all of our games, home and away, were available to all of us for a small fee payable to the club

For those 25 yearers, when did the scheme first go on sale?

I've just looked at the full, detailed accounts for that period (yes I know, very sad as my wife has just commented) and there isn't the slightest reference to the scheme anywhere. That came as a surprise me given the publicity it received at the time.

I'm honestly not sure Storck. My memory isn't great at the best of times and obviously it's a fair few years ago now.

I think I remember it was approximately 3 years into the 5 year deal though if that helps with the dates?

the second admin was 2004 so that would be 3 years in, so would sit with my memory too.

    Crikey I didn't know that.

I nearly bought the 25 yr ticket but backed out at the last minute so have not really read much on the debates over the years.

I didn't realise that those who got a full refund were included in future "deals" with the club such as continued discounted ST's. I get that for those who lost out but if you got all your money back why would you be entitled to or come forward to benefit from the deals?

    Seems rather odd.

The club have no access to the details of those that got refunds off credit cards so they decided to just ignore it

And any refund is between the credit card company and the person that owns the card.

In no way is it any business of the football club or anyone else for that matter.

The football club caused the problems with mis management, not the credit card owners.
