Relatively minor news? Even if they continue to drip feed one announcement a day I would hope we get more than 'relatively minor', given the objective is promotion.

 

That's the trouble with small squads, Stuart said he preferred a smaller band of players unfortunately when you do get injures they are rushed back certainly when as your Hosannah & Staunton examples they were performing better than most at the time.

 

I doubt we’ll get a signing everyday for the next few weeks, what news would you expect every day? I believe this is part of the clubs marketing strategy to drip feed information whatever it maybe and build hype, followed by reminding everyone the season tickets are still for sale.

Lets be fair, fat Nev and Chris Waddle would have performed better than most in that team.

 

I'd get used to relatively minor news some days becausewe're only due to make another 7 signings

 

I just hope it doesn't jeopardise Staunton's career given how serious a tear it seemed to be at such an important stage of his development.

T and A mentioning Oscar Threlkeld been mentioned enough times on here already.

 

And what if the first choice is crocked? Long term even or even worse he has a massive loss of form?

We need to be confident that whoever is on the bench can not only do the job when required but also be good enough to push those in the first XI to maintain their performance.

 

I think I may have misunderstood the original post or the point I am making is not clear. I don't expect or necessarily want to be drip feed morsels of information about minor stuff every day, and this being the transfer rumours thread, I assumed when you were talking about minor news that you were referring to signings. On that front, I hope the news we get whether drip fed or in bursts starts to show the kind of intent that the noises coming out of valley parade have been suggesting.

 

Can't see us signing both Songo'o and Threlkeld personally.

I'd be surprised if we brought Threlkeld in full stop.

 

Threlkeld played RB under Adams so maybe he's bringing him in to play there.

 

Going back to my original point to clear it up, the minor news I was talking about was stuff like that lager partnership, new seats etc. Stuff that fans don’t really care about but makes it look like progress is being made off field and the club is being busy to improve. The major news would be any first team signing in between of such news.

 

I wouldn’t be, Adams has firm for bringing in players he knows. And Threlkeld can play CDM and RB, both positions we need to bolster imo. With that in mind I’d say he’s ideal.

Why? They play different positions we need to fill. Adams knows both. Both available.

Fair comment, but is it any worse than when ROD was injured and we had Will Huffer on the bench ? If the first choice goalkeeper gets injured we bring in an emergency loan as back up and play the second choice (whoever that is, and as we did when ROD put in his sick note).

Doyle might not have played a lot in the last two years but he's still played more league games than Hornby in that time, and at 36 is hardly over the hill for a keeper and has the quality we need to be back up at the right price, especially if compared to the cost of having ROD as back up.

If he had never played for BCFC then would we complain ? Seems the only thing people object to is bringing back an ex player just because it rarely works. Goalies are a different breed, you cant even start to compare what he would bring to the waste of space that was Billy Clarke and still is Gareth Evans.

Would anyone bat an eyelid if we brought Doyle in as goalkeeping coach ? I doubt it.

 

Quite a few clubs interested in Halifax midfielder Jack Earing, Walsall favourites apparently. Not sure if he has ever been on our radar, seeing as he has been playing for a local club

 

Walsall possibly the only team so far to have brought in decent pedigree players in our league, looks like they're not messing around. I've said it before but these are the players from the league below that I'd prefer to see than the poor Prem League 2 loanees we've have over the past few seasons.

 

Should have been, I brought it up on here after he starred for Town v Torquay, a bit of a Jack Grealish type...

 

I remember a couple of lads they had up front we could have signed a few years back. Gregory and Jamie something I think they were called.

Brentford and Posh are where they are for scouting non league and making millions through player sales.
