New Coach - Michael Collins

I'd bet Graysons deal over 2 years was better than Collins over3 years .

 

Exactly, you can go through a process and make it extremely difficult for any candidate to fulfill your criteria, and then hold your hands up in despair and say you tried! The length of time has been an important element here, so that fans are duped into believing all the stops have been pulled out to get a coach on board. It may well have been the reason James finally threw in the towel.

I believe we have a egotistical chairman in situ, who will take no advice, firmly believes he knows better than anyone else, and will never concede he has made massive mistakes. The danger to our club and reputation is worryingly high. Yes of course I hope his vision of football’s version of world domination turns out to be good one for our club, I will never feel comfortable while these two are in our club, and to think I welcomed them to our club. It is like inviting a lovely cat into your home only to find the next morning your home is wrecked and there is a full grown tiger in the corner.

 

This appointment may be inspired, a disaster or somewhere in between.

What irritates me is the way we have all been strung along again by the owners. If these three have been in situ for a number of weeks, why have we only just had the announcement?

James Mason leaving really worries me because he appears to have left without anything else to go to. What does that tell you about things behind the scenes?

I will be right behind the team and coaches this coming season but I have zero trust in this Board to be straight with us and the more I see, the more convinced I am that we are Rahic's plaything.

 

I don't have time to read all social media, and twitter is way down on my priority list.

 

I have read quite a bit of twitter. According to this sports journo, yes highly rated coach Ben Garner was being ‘interviewed’ but apparently walked away. As I say in my previous post, you can make it very hard for someone to say yes!! Edin has his coaching team that he can manipulate, and it is my belief this is what he wanted all along!

 

I agree. They do like to play on both sides of the fence.

 

Widen your horizons. Life exists outside of Bantam Talk. How else will you find out what people are having for tea ?

 

I'd have preferred a coaching appointment with a coach with coaching experience at league level, as many have posted one hell of a baptism for all three.

 

I’m all for making your own decisions if it’s your business but I’ve never known an owner be so out of touch with his customers ie the fans !!

Wonder if anyone's told Darren Ferguson that he hasn't got the job and when he checks out of that Travel Lodge in Leeds he'll have to pay his own bill ?

 

I genuinely think edin couldn't care less about what the fans think anymore.

He's so convinced he is the almighty and can revolutionise English football despite zero ability, it's absurd.

Mason was our last hope of someone reigning him in and putting him in his place, but even a city fan through and through couldn't stand working under him. Worrying times

Right, I'm over the shock now. Could be a great appointment. I'll judge him on his results and nothing else, he fails and Edin fails/ vice versa. Life goes on, people will die of horrible diseases today so this doesn't matter does it.

it’s all a bit salty on here and throughout social media this morning - pretty sure some would like to see the club fail to be vindicated on their views.

michael collins, has caused us no harm and deserves to be judged on his record from now on with a clean slate with the backing of everyone - but that also does not mean you have to back the board.

people are free to post whatever they want (within reason and legal limits) but from 0-90mins on each matchday there is only one thing that matters.
