Lack of proper investment apart from Richmond and the Rhodes family, we've had two bob millionaire like Bob Martin, the late Dave Simpson, and Bradford businessmen like OS Wain, unfortunately we never had a Bob Lord, Louis Edwards, Leslie Silver, Harry Reynolds, or Manny Cussins, Ken Morrison flirted with us for a while as did Jack Tordoff but neither were serious investors unfortunately no one with real financial clout who wanted to invest and that's in 60 years.

 

This his “personal” decision, we have no idea of his personal circumstances?

I once turned down a senior manager job in my old industry which actually would have doubled my wages.

There are always “ circumstances “ to consider.

 

Its not often a manager would clear the decks like Parky did. Scouts and targets, fitness team and goalkeeper coach, completely left us in the crap and partly contributed to our demise. He showed no remorse for the club or supporters who revered him. He was proven right about Rahic but I’d have imagined it was his words that convinced the others to leave and not stay to help out until replacements could be found.

 

Can’t argue with that but some think he will walk into the job if he was offered it, which is laughable tbh, however I DO think we won’t see our two in charge of first team matters within the next 10 days.

 

Why would they stay and help out, Parky was on his way to Bolton and Bolton were more than happy to give him what he wanted backroom staff wise, there's no sentiment in football, and who's to say Stuart would have wanted Parky's backroom staff.
That season worked out quite well without them if I remember correctly, I know its been debated many times on here but there was only one person to blame for us not beating Millwall at Wembley IMO.

 

I just believe he thought he could take Morecambe up or in the play offs which would make him more money in the long run or put him in more demand. He is out of contract at the end of the season.

However, if we come knowing again and Sparks shows/highlights hes a winner rather than just an opportunist then he would be interested.

 

I assume you're meaning some think he walk into the Bradford City job ?, if Ryan was to approach him why wouldn't he unless he got a better offer else where, T&S are still here until we hear otherwise but I'd have him on my wish list with the likes of Wellen's.

Yep he'd be on my wanted list, so far Salford haven't impressed with the money they've spent, I see you fail to use his Swindon experience as a comparison then again you wouldn't would you .

 

I definitely agree with both of you, there's a reason we are where we are ie the Minnow Pond.

But we are still a big club for so many reasons - but it's not making a massive difference because the big, fat, slow fish isn't outperforming the svelt, small, skinny fish.

 

By the very definition that's what a big club is supposed to do. But even last time we dropped down to league 2 at no point did we ever dominate in it, only Exeters massive implosion seeing us hit the playoffs. A big club culture has to come from within the club itself and the way it reacts. Look at Bolton for example fallen all the way to the bottom but one win away from automatic promotion. That's what a big team does.

Yes, they appointed Bowyer who is the very epitome of hoofball.

 

Wellens makes sense because he can be seen as a successor to Trueman and Sellars.

He did brilliant with Swindon, mixed results elsewhere, but actually he didn't do too bad at Salford this season.

However I think we're going to start next season with Trueman and Sellars and I think that's the right thing to do too.

Just for the record, Stuart only has one backroom staff member and always has. Maybe that’s his problem.

Not sure that's true, when Conditioning Coach Robert Lossau left he brought I've forgot his name but I believe he was CB at both Everton & Derby County during his career.
