Agree Fordy. They steadied the ship nicely but have lost it completely trying to guide to port.

 

Ryan Sparks was right when he said if when they lifted the club from rock bottom and won matches here and there they would have been given plaudits it’s only because of their success by putting the club in such a healthy position then they are now getting criticised despite achieving what they were targeted to do. They deserve to take the club forward

Sparks is no fool. He will understand that he needs this club to go up automatically next season and needs to make changes to do that.

 

Good point, but like the captain of the Costa concordia, great at open sea but close to the coast he lost it and ignored the advice of the pilot

And recent results tell us T&S can't do it either. Catch 22 situation. Ryan is damned by some if he replaces them and we don't go up, and damned if he keeps them and we dont

Read the WOAP article where he says exactly what you have just said and is already making changes for next season. At least you have stopped calling him a tea boy and acknowledged he is actually doing the do. Much like you have asked him to do from day one.

With the right players T&S will be able to put out a team that will achieve auto promotion next season. They were tasked with keeping us up and they did that in spades.

We need more influential players in the starting 11 so that when 1 is out we are not rocked like we were when Cooke was missing.

They battle against the odds and keep the ship afloat, get both propellers turning and again completely overachieve by hitting top speed, nearly getting into New York on schedule.
Unfortunately a couple of miles from port the earlier Captains mishaps, some bad apples amongst the crew (and the iceberg) come back to haunt them and they limp into port a few days late.....
several white star investors lead by the car wash magnate Fordy demand the two young officers are sacked and an experienced Captain (like the one who hit the iceberg) take over as their lack of experience in getting to New York late was unforgivable.

I don't believe T & S have it in them to take us up.

 

I don't think they should suffer the same fate as him. They were trying but got things wrong, he was showing off.

 

I also have my doubts but I have been impressed by Ryan and he has much more knowledge of all angles of the situation than us and whichever way he goes, will get behind his decision and support our team. I know you will do the same for you are as big a fool as the rest of us. We all love our club.

It's not that long ago. The only real difference is, it's now more of a squad game. Blake, Mills, Beagrie, Stuart, Bruno, Jamie etc would still be stars.

 

And meanwhile because that ship is taking so long to get to port all the passengers waiting to get on have got fed up, lost interest and left.

 

This is the real danger. One more season like this and a lot are going to walk away from an already dwindling fan base.

 

Not so long ago we had a fanbase which very regularly produced an attendance at VP of over 20k for league 1 fixtures. I’m not sure we are anywhere near those levels now.
