I agree with every word of this. T & S have done a wonderful job and at this stage of the season if we have to forsake attacking football to get the 3 points then so be it.

Fully agree here. But I think the reaction of a section supporters when there is a poor performance is a bi-product of the instability that @WilsdenBantam@WilsdenBantam alludes to. I think as a set of fans we have become accustomed to change due to years of poor leadership. There is still raw emotion about where we are, the rapid nature of the fall and, even though I don't agree with most of it, you can understand that frustration.

T&S have overcome so many hurdles in a short space of time but maybe the fans are the trickiest hurdle of the lot because that trust still doesn't appear to be there yet. The murmurs of discontent that emerged following T&S' first winless run was evidence of that, despite it only being a four game run. And given the frustration on the back of Saturday's victory, if we don't win in such a key game tonight then I suspect we'll see it again. Thankfully I think we've got the right people at the club to deal with that at the moment who appreciate that there is a bigger picture and much more hard work to be done.

I wasn't a fan of the Bowyer style of football and despite some of the vitriol, I acknowledge he managed to produce the results where it mattered. When he was sacked, the team was positioned several places higher than where we are currently and probably in a genuine play-off position. But I never believed that performances and points were the reasons Bowyer was sacked. Nor do I believe it was pressure from the fans. Instead it was everything to do with the club's financial position which as always was JR's primary concern. Season tickets were about to go on sale for the following season and JR hoped that in bringing SMc back to the club, he'd bring about a bounce in ticket sales. It was a cynical move imo. JR brought in two players - Novak and Middleton - from clubs where SMc had connections (and one from the pub team where he drank!) on transfer deadline day without Bowyer's knowledge and SMc was installed as the replacement manager 48 hrs later. Unfortunately for JR and as we now know, events overtook JR's cunning plan.

The return of SMc proved to be a bad move for the club and only after JR had left the building was it overturned by Sparky. And that change has been a very good one despite what the OP might believe.

Bowyer was sacked because his god awful brand of football was unsustainable. Lots of posters called it on here quite early on and they were right. Win, lose or draw the feeling amongst the fan base was one of boredom and misery at going to games, shown by the dwindling attendances and lifeless atmosphere at VP. The decision to sack him was not due to 'the mob' or 'keyboard warriors' on social media moaning because we didn't win 5-0 every week. It was because an expensively assembled squad was being mismanaged in every way possible, our season was heading south and commercially, we were on track to lose a lot of season ticket holders.

    He deserved to go.

Never heard Blackpool fans complain when he got them promoted nor will the Salford if he does it again at Salford which he is threatening to do. He inherited a terrible set of players and had one transfer window to put it right as have T&S but that won’t stop some people shouting loud if we don’t make it to the play offs which from where they started we have no right to be

Very well said, until there’s a sense of progress on and off the pitch the fan base will continue to go up and down. That’s on the powers that be to rectify nobody else.

After one poor month and the vitriol of the mob. The same will happen to these two managers if results decline, and as I stated earlier I hope Sparks keeps his nerve.

    Don't be so soft.

We're a shit side. And those two have seen us go backwards after a promising start. And just like the clueless McCall these two are making the same mistakes. I can't be arsed with it. I'd back any manager so they improve the team, themselves.

The way in which impose ourselves - or don't - on games, is a worry. I worry about the mindset as much as whether T&S have the coaching ability. I first noticed it in the game against Bolton. We completely sat off until we went a goal behind and its as though that cautious mindset has never left us. Sparks talks about not accepting mediocrity - did anyone hear Canavans interview that played at half time on iFollow? The question was asked around whether the players felt a sense of pressure or expectancy around getting into the playoffs or was our late flirt with the top 7 just a bonus after our poor start. The answer was along the lines of 'if we do it, we do it, if we don't we don't but hopefully its a platform for next season'. I was so disappointed to hear that. Forget our shite start - promotion should be expected every season we're in this league. If we'd won tonight, we'd have gone a point outside the playoffs with 6 or 7 games left. We should be talking openly and bullishly about aiming for the playoffs and we should be demonstrating that in the way we start and approach games. I really worry that too many people at the club are giving themselves a free pass just because of where we were in December. The chance is there, bloody well go for it!!

How we have gone backwards under them?, we were 22nd in the league when they took over, now we are 4 points from play offs

Well I, for one, will give them every chance to learn from their mistakes. They have achieved the main target of keeping us up and they have got us within sight of the play offs.

I will now wait to see how they react to these last two poor performances (one of which we still won) and, of course, the summer transfer window.

For those already calling for them to go, who do you expect us to bring in?

Maybe you should have waited until after tonight's game before typing that ;).
