    Knew it.

Wouldda won 24-0 if only they'd had a bit more water drinking training.

Everyone enthused over Bolton’s domination of us on Saturday. Imho we, for large parts of the game last night, had County chasing shadows in the same way. The critical missing link for me was Cooke’s absence. The final 25 yds was/is the weak link.
I wonder what their fans are saying today, “They should have been out of sight after completely dominating us especially for 75% of the second half” ? Am I wearing those pro BCAFC rose tinted specs this afternoon?

Without doubt Cooke has been a big contributor in our recent good run, but we should have enough midfield players to step in, one thing for sure it was our lack of creation from our midfield and wide areas that contributed to us not being out of sight before Newport got back into the game.
Last night Newport were there for the taking but although we had plenty of the ball we didn't do enough with it, take the back pass away and Woods 30 yarder we created very little else.

Some of you lot are mental. It's one defeat, which happened with the last kick of the game, against the run of play.

The only other defeat we had under Trueman and Sellars was also against a team in the top 6/7, away from home.

Apart from that the improvement and form has been nothing short of Top 3 standard.

We'll get the wheels back in motion on Saturday - this is a cracking exciting City team we've got here who are playing really well!

Whinge whinge whinge man, get a grip some of you

We had three points in the bag and two stupid player decisions gave them them two goals. Nothing to do with lack of water or fitness. Cant see a player saying to himself I'm lacking water I`ll throw my arms in the air.

Even mild dehydration is known to cause muddled thinking, issues with concentration and decision making, this isn't me saying he was dehydrated, but that it is a potential effect of it.

Yes I agree with your overall sentiment, but actually I think the questions would have still been asked had we 'only' drawn a game we appeared to be coasting to victory in.

Realistically we need to pose more of a threat from set plays, corners in particular, given we lacked any kind of threat which was disappointing. The silly fouls we've been giving away in the midfield area is worrying, as it's a trait we've seen across multiple games now - particularly from over-eager forwards careening into players.

I didn't realize it was Andy Cook who gave away the free kick Dolan tucked away, but we've seen all of our attacking players giving away free kicks in that sort of area or out wide, including Rowe, Evans, Crankshaw AND (somehow, given his lack of minutes) Donaldson. Eventually that's going to bite you in the backside, and it did last night.

However, listen, you don't have a defensive record like we do in recent games unless you defend from the front, much like you don't score freely unless you attack from the back. It's annoying to see our forwards barging players over, but it's clearly part of the plan with everyone working super hard to stop us conceding. It's not just the back four making match-saving blocks, it's about defending from the half way line.

Obviously, however, it's going to need addressing.

I don’t really understand why we get so little from our set pieces when we have units like Cook Rowe Paudie and Canavan it’s an area where an improvement is badly needed and why a team like Newport who were outplayed for most of match came away with the points

To put it into some perspective, both the games we lost were due to penalty decisions. Cut those out and we would have been in an even better place!

I disagree that they have let themselves down. Our form is still spectacular and who would have thought after 16 games that we could even get where we are, let alone with 14 games left.

I don't disagree that the defeat has been coming, it has and we haven't hit the heights of the Cheltenham game in our last three. That said, in a perverse way, I think we "needed" this defeat to smell the coffee a bit and tell us we are vunerable unless we press the game much more.

I think we will have learned a lot more from last night night than the wins v Mansfield & Walsall and will kick on from that. The playoffs are still achievable. Six points off with 14 games to go ? We are good enough but need one of Cook or Rowe on the field for the whole match. And we stopped looking solid last night when Billy Clarke went off. No-one "honours his defensive duties" quite like Billy.

The first 14 games under T&S replicated would be immense.

Most people repeating what Kiwomya says would end up looking like Darren Slingsby aka WDM. The man talks gibberish for a living, however on that point at least, he does have a very valid claim. As I watched on ifollow and didn't hear him, I can only assume that he did actually manage to say it coherently and the words in the right order.

Or was it more of a playering need watery breaks for rehydehyrdating or they will be comfusing and headering the ballthing
